Hi I'm Adam

I am a husband and father, a solar developer, a cyclist, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have been married for more nearly 20 years and blessed with 5 outstanding children. We enjoy taking trips together and enjoying the outdoors. I am an avid cyclist enjoying both mountain biking and road biking. I also enjoy fly fishing and hiking. I have started several small companies since I returned from my mission and I am currently in the solar development business.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a young teen I found that I was very unhappy. Although I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ by my mother who is a member of the same church, my personal faith was very weak. I decided I needed to change something about myself, and in this effort to find happiness I turned to the Book of Mormon, "Another Testament of Jesus Christ". "Is it true?", I asked myself. With only a year before the time when many of my friends would serve full-time missions for the church I needed to know if this was the right path for me. I began to study the Holy Bible (King James version) side-by-side with the Book of Mormon. Excitement soon filled me as I compared these two powerful books and the stories of faith and courage that were contained in them. I learned where to find happiness through these historical examples of real men an women enduring their trials of faith. I was filled with a special spirit that encouraged me to continue to read more and more. Upon completing the Book of Mormon I read Moroni 10:4 where it promises that if you pray to Heavenly Father you can know of the truthfulness of this book. I listened, and in a moment of humble prayer I felt a sweet calming spirit that witnessed to me the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. That day I committed to serve the Lord on a full-time mission to proclaim the message that Jesus is the Christ and that the book of Mormon is indeed another testament of Jesus Christ. From the knowledge of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon came an understanding of latter-day prophets and apostles, the message of eternal families, and much more has been added upon over the years. My life is full be cause of my decision to be a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

In the home my wife and I lead our family in prayer and scripture study daily. It brings us great joy to send our kids to school with the guidance of good solid principles to lead them through the daily challenges of today's youth. In our church I have an assignment to serve a couple families in the ward through a program we call home teaching. As home teachers my son and I go out each month and make sure the families get a spiritual message, and ensure that their temporal needs are met as well. I love serving with my son and teaching him how to help others.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Adam
The belief that families are eternal is perhaps one of the most rewarding doctrinal principles that we learn as Mormons. In a recent visit to the temple, I listened closely to the wonderful covenants (promises and blessings) of the sealing ceremony. As I sat across from my wife, both of us dressed in white, I thought about the blessings of being sealed "for time and all eternity". If there is any single principle that would change the world it would be the importance of families and how we treat each other. Selfishness would take a backseat to wholehearted devotion, trust, and love. Our children, their children, and generations to come would be the beneficiaries. As I consider the eternal doctrine and ordinances that seals us together as families, I can only imagine the wonderful reunions that are taking place as families are being reunited on the other side. I know that our Heavenly Father put us on earth with families to experience all life has to offer in a structure that supports growth and development. Participating together strengthens us, and the eternal nature of the partnership that my wife and I share keep us in harmony as we make decisions that impact our family. Because I believe this life is only a small portion of our existence I also believe these relationships will be respected, maintained, and developed beyond the grave. I know that our families are eternal and that we can be together forever. This knowledge brings me great joy. Show more Show less
