Hi I'm Issy

I'm from a big city in Minnesota , I collect albums, I play guitar, I love my family, I'm a 2nd Grade teacher, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a quarter of a century old, fun loving, musician, student, dreamer, sister, and aunt. I just recently graduated college and I majored in Elementary Education. I am currently teaching second grade in Idaho. I play guitar, piano, ukelele, and clarinet. I have gained all my musical talents from my Dad he is an amazing musician. He has taught me the importance of practice and dedication. I am also a huge fan of old music. I love going to thrift stores with my Mom and finding an album of my favorite band. I love photography. I love taking pictures especially with my friends and family. I love spending time with my family. My family is the most important thing in my life, and I am grateful for every member of it. I love also spending time in the outdoors with my husband. He's a lot more adventurous then me, but the outdoors are lovely. I also love how much I can see the love of God, through all the beauties of this world. I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; it influences every aspect of my life. To me it's not just a religion it’s a way of life. The church encourages me in everything that I do, from the way I dress to the way I talk. I absolutely love the church. I can’t imagine my life without the church in it; it has a large impact on my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon, because of the amazing examples that my parents give to me; they were both converts to the church and their testimonies of the church build onto my own. I have learned through experiences that have taught me that my Heavenly Father loves me and knows me. Just like my parents here know me well, my Father in Heaven knows everything from what I can do and what I can become. I also know that Jesus Christ lives, he knows everyone's pain and sorrow and he can lift us. Even when we think there is no hope the Savior lifts my burdens and lets me know that he is there for me. I have faith in God, although I can't see him and he hasn't came to me he has been there for me, I know he watches over us. I also know that he listens to our prayers he never leaves us alone. I am Mormon because of the knowledge I have gained from my Heavenly Father. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God; I can tell you I remember exactly where I was when I gained this testimony because it was so influential to me. The Lord offers us direction through his prophets and apostles today. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God; I remember when I gained this testimony for myself the feeling filled with gratitude and so much joy. I am so grateful that I have the gospel in my life. Another reason I am a member of the church is due to the fact that family's are so important to me. I believe fully that this life is not the end and that we can see our family member who have passed again. I know that families can be forever and not just end. I also am so glad that our Heavenly Father loves families enough that he doesn't want us to be without them. The family is the main reason we are here on this earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith from beginning and ending with service. I participate in the women's organization by doing my Visiting Teaching (which is a partnered team of two women that come and visit other women in the area); you learn so much from other people. Also I was able to teach the 3-4 year olds and it was the greatest thing in the world. I loved being with the children and the spirits they have. They know so many things; it's enjoyable. Also I live my faith by trying to be the best example of Jesus Christ, I try to radiate him in everything I do. My favorite way to live my faith is by serving others. Serving others is so important to me; it helps me see the good in every one. When we are serving and loving others there is no room for judgment or hate. The best part of service though is probably at the end when you feel overwhelmed by the love of others and God.

What is the Relief Society?

The Relief Society, is a place for the women of the church. Where we learn to uplift each other and learn to be more Christlike. It's a great place to make friends and understand each other. Not only do we get to interact with the women of the church, but we learn so many things. We learn important doctrine that brings us closer to Christ, we also do things were we are able to come together as a group. We have activities every month; I have learned how to make bouquets of flowers, journals, and even how to decorate cakes. Not only do we learn these useful things, but we learn how to strengthen our testimonies together as we come closer to Christ, especially in times when we have done service actives. Relief society is a great way for the women of our church to come together. Show more Show less
