Hi I'm Brenda

I am a lover of music. I'm a Daughter of God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up loving music. Singing every chance I could find. A husband and four children later, I am still singing "for the love of it". I was raised by very good parents, who taught me well, right from wrong, and good from bad. The phrase I always remember my Dad teaching was "family comes first". I have kept with that for my life. My mom was the glue, and kept us all moving forward on the right path. Now, I try to emulate them. I am still singing in a local choir. I work outside the home, while my husbands health prevents him from doing so. My children each have a vital role in the home that keeps it running smoothly. The family sits down to dinner at least 6 days out of 7. We play together, read together, cook together. Life moves pretty fast, and we are together while it does.

Why I am a Mormon

I have found something. A fire in my life. It extinguishes when I stop practicing my religion , and increases when I do. It is the Light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Each step I take towards showing My Father In Heaven, and my Savior my devotion to them, the brighter my path is illuminated towards them.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite callings was when we were just married a year or two, I was asked to teach the Juniors in High School, from the scriptures (Release-time Seminary Teacher). I was NOT a morning person, and my work shift was 10am to 7pm, not really a great schedule to teach a 6:30 am class. I really could have said "no, I just can't" , but I was committed to never say no to a calling. I also felt I had a unique perspective to offer. I was converted by the scriptures, and therefore, have a great love for them and how they became my conversion point in the Gospel. The spirit and the desire of these teenagers to get up early, and learn the word of God inspired me. It motivated me to do better. I learned so much. I have had many callings since then but this was a monumental shift in my life. I remembered the love I have for the scriptures, and for every living soul.
