Hi I'm Terrell

I'm a Network Technition, Sound Guy, Mountain biker, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

Well I grew up in the church and have always gone to it. Some of my hobbies include Web Design, Unicycling, and Hikeing. My family is something that is verry special too me. There were some times that I seiriously doubted what I had been brought up into. Thru time I have come to the realization of how many blessings God has given my family and I. I came to know that this church is true and has the potential to help us answer any questions we may have. especially questions about who we are, what our pourpose is on this earth, and especially where we go after this life. I'm curently serving a mission in Pennsylvania. I have seen the gospel of Jesus Christ change lives. we would like to invite you to read the book of mormon and see if it can change your life like it has changed mine.

Why I am a Mormon

Well on top of growing up in the church there comes a time that you need to figure things out on your own. This time came for me in my teen years. I began to sincerely wonder if I was missing something. I had always gone to church but later I came to a realization that i missed the whole point. I had been having some challenges and I remember deciding to go hiking in order to find a place kind of away from everything. when I got to the top of the mountain, I Kneeled down and offered a prayer asking if this church was true and if the Book of Mormon is really another record of scripture. Upon doing this and truly desiring an answer I felt a wave of peace come over Me. I knew at that time that I needed to start studying the scriptures and gaining a stronger testimony. After striving to do that for some time, I knew that Joseph Smith Truly was called of god to restore many things that were lost and over time and changed. and that the church God commanded Joseph to organize is truly the kingdom of god once again established on the earth. And this knowledge has helped me find peace thru many trials and tough times. I know that these things are true and I share them with you because I have been blessed with this knowledge.

How I live my faith

some of the ways that I live my faith is by setting a good example to others. also striveing to do what is right. By liveing god's standards i have come to know that we can find more peace and happyness by simply doing what is right

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Terrell
The missionary activitys are funded usually substantially from the missionary's themselves. they save up money and than give it to the church. Also members of the church and parent's of a missionary and also non members can contribute to the churches missionary fund. The church than uses that money to ensure that the missionary has a place to live, a form of transportation. all their physical needs are met, food, hygene and so on. Show more Show less

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Terrell
The tithing funds that the church receives from the members is used in many different ways. Some of the things it is used for are chapel construction and maintenance, temple construction and maintenance, providing resources to members, printing teaching materials for both missionaries and members to use and learn from. providing youth and family programs, and help acquiring assets needed to assist the church in reaching out to all people, wherever they may be around the globe.  Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Terrell
One thing that I love about the gospels in the Bible, is that we find that those that ministered in the church Christ established were unpaid. even the apostles, those whom Jesus personally taught and empowered all had there own employment. we find that some were publicans tax collectors, and fisherman, along with many other sources of employ. Fallowing this example makes everyone in the church able to receive the blessings that come from helping others. There are things that we all do to help the church run. The common ground is, we are the workers. We are all interested in sharing the gospel with others. Through this inspired pattern we are able to continually help each other, and strengthen each other so we might be better able to withstand the temptations and evils of the society's in which we live. What is being a Mormon like?

Terrell
Being a member of the church gives you the strength and the guidance that we need to continue fallowing the example of Jesus Christ. there are many ways that I have seen my membership in the church bless my life with guidance, and steer me in the right direction. over time you also gain a deeper understanding of the teachings of Jesus. Through study and prayer I have found answers to many of my questions. Ranging from is there really a god? to why is there so much bad in the wold? And how can I protect myself and my friends from the dangers and evils of the world? I honestly know that his gospel is true, that the things that the church teaches are the same things Christ himself taught. There are some things that you cannot fake no matter how hard you try, truth is one of them. The truthfulness of all things stands out to all people. We all kinda know whats right and whats wrong. The gospel clarifies our ability to see right and wrong and recognize when something may seem good but is wrong. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Terrell
Really there is only one way to know of the truthfulness of all things. We believe that god is the source of all knowledge and wisdom, he is a loving and caring father that knows us individually. the way we can know that these things are true is through careful study, and prayer. There is a passage in the scriptures that says "Behold, you have not understood you have supposed that I would give it unto you, when you took no thought save it was to ask me. But, behold, I say unto you, that you must study it out in your mind then you must ask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you therefore, you shall feel that it is right. But if it be not right you shall have no such feelings, but you shall have a stupor of thought that shall cause you to forget the thing which is wrong" I know that god will never lead us astray. If we trust in him, have faith, and are willing to do the things he asks of us, he will bless us with the things we need to return and live with him again. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Terrell
No one is required, or forced to serve a mission. But all worthy young men ages 19-26 are strongly encouraged. There are allot of members that serve missions, and allot that don't. As a missionary there are allot of things we are able to learn while serving a mission. Some of them are things as simple as life skills, like learning how to live on your own, or even using a budget, and teaching others. The more important things that we learn are about the gospel of Jesus Christ, how to live a more Christ like life and gain attributes that he had.  Show more Show less
