Hi I'm Christina

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I am an elementary school teacher that lives in Seattle, Washington. I currently work as a personal assistant for a wonderful family! I love the outdoors: hiking, running, biking, swimming, boating, etc. I love to read and hope to have a library in my house one day. I have a passion for the color pink and wear it every day. Before I die, I want to write a book and have it published. I love going to a good play or musical, watching a good movie and sitting around with friends having great discussions. There is nothing better in my mind that having a good gospel centered discussion in which the Spirit of the Lord is present and truths are confirmed.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for a number of reasons. I love this gospel. It has changed my life. I love the Savior, Jesus Christ. He's my best friend. Even when it feels like no one else is there, I know that He is. He stands with open arms waiting to bless me if I would just turn to him. I am grateful for prayer and the opportunity that it gives to communicate with our Father in Heaven. I am grateful to know that we have a prophet here on earth, President Thomas S. Monson, who is the mouthpiece of the Lord and gives us the modern day revelation that we need for our time. I know that as I follow his counsel, my life is blessed. I know that the temple is the House of the Lord and that it is in there that we can receiving the crowning ordinances of the gospel necessary to return to live with our Father in Heaven. I love the temple and the Spirit that is felt there. In the temple, we become Saviors on Mt.Zion because we are doing something for someone that they can no longer do for themselves. I know that as I serve others and keep the commandments and strive to do my best, the Lord makes up the difference of my short comings. Repentance is real and forgiveness brings such peace. I am grateful for the many blessings that I have in my life because of the gospel. I understand what true everlasting happiness is, not temporary happiness that so many out there in the world feel. I know the scriptures are the word of God and that the Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ and that by reading it, we may draw closer to the Savior and learn from the past and feel of the Spirit. I am grateful for my testimony and this knowledge.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving those around me. As a sister, a woman in the church, I have the opportunity to do what is called visiting teaching. Each month I go out with another sister and teach a message to 3-5 different girls. Through this program have come some of my greatest friends. Visiting teaching is an opportunity to make sure that all of the girls needs are met and that everyone is feeling the love of the Savior. I have also had the opportunity to teach Sunday School which is one of our Sunday meetings. I love teaching Sunday School because as I prepare my Sunday lessons, I learn so much and my testimony is strengthened. I also do family history and search for my ancestors who have died and passed on. I find them and then do their work in the temple, offering them the same blessings which I have been offered.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

We believe that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. Many people believe that we worship Joseph Smith but this is not true. The name of our church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We worship Jesus Christ as our Savior. He is our elder brother. We believe that he died on the cross and suffered to complete what is called the atonement, which allows us to repent of our sins here on earth to one day return to live with our Father in Heaven. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of Mary and Joseph in the flesh. We also believe that Christ rose again on the 3rd day and that He lives. He lives today. He is our mediator with our Father in Heaven. Show more Show less
