Hi I'm Brent

I'm a full-time photographer and artist. My tag-line in my business is 'capturing beauty', and that is what I strive to do.

About Me

I'm a husband, a dad, a grandpa, and a network engineer turned professional photographer. We both have 5 children from our first marriages, and we adopted 4. They are all grown now. My photography allows me to express in ways I never thought possible. I also enjoy teaching people how to take better photos and be better artists. I am also a Church Service Missionary serving as a professional photographer with the Church Publication Services. No, I don't walk around with a companion in a white shirt and tie, but I look for opportunities to take photographs that can be used by the church. It's a fun assignment.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a 5th generation member on my mother's side of the family. My great-great-grandparents joined the church in England, sailed to the United States and crossed the plains in the mid-1800s. For years, I took being a member for granted. However, life's experiences and trials have made me come to the realization that I really know this is where my Heavenly Father wants me. Being a Mormon is a way of life. Knowning who you are, why you are here, what you can become and how to get there is life-changing. There is no other path to true happiness.

How I live my faith

I work hard to treat others with kindness and respect. It doesn't come easy or naturally for me, it does take me out of my comfort zone to approach people and attempt to become their friend, but some of the greates rewards have come as a result. On Sunday's, I play the piano for the children at church. I love it. It is a small way of serving, and I hope the children enjoy it too. I also alternate with another organist playing the piano for our church services. When oportunities come up to help, I always try to make myself available. It may mean helping someone move in or out, fixing dinner for someone who just got out of the hospital, setting up chairs, etc. Helping others has its own rewards.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is an abridged history of a people who lived in the Americas. The authors of the book were prophets - just like the prophets who wrote the books of the Bible. These Book of Mormon prophets knew God had a purpose in commanding them to write on metal plates. They were told it was for a "wise purpose". Having read the Book of Mormon several times, I have come to recognize that "wise purpose" was for us you and me and people who live today to learn how to prosper and be happy. Reading the Book of Mormon draws one closer to our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
