Hi I'm Alice.

I'm a wife and mother of 3 children. (Best job ever!) I love music, books, food & travel. I have a great life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and mother of 3 children.... the best job ever! I'm technically a "stay-at-home" mom but that doesn't mean I stay home all day. I'm out doing all the things moms do! I grew up in a big family, the fourth of 11 children. Yes, my parents are amazing. My extended family is very big and very close and we do a lot together. I'm so grateful my children have the opportunity to know and love their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. My sisters are my best friends. I enjoy cooking, but I really love to eat. I am an avid reader and have been known to frequently stay up all night finishing a book. (I think moms have to sacrifice sleep in order to have hobbies!) I love music... both listening to it and making it! I am crazy about traveling, but I have a husband who is somewhat reluctant, but I'm making progress. I have visited 22 states and 13 foreign countries.... lots more to go! I only speak English but I studied American Sign Language in college. I started out as a music major but graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in English. Before I became a mother I worked as a substitute teacher and a bookkeeper. I have also taught music lessons in my home. I love to sing and I have had the opportunity to perform as a soloist on a regular basis in church. Music is a big part of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

My family and my faith are the most important things in my life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has taught me about Heavenly Father's plan of happiness for all us.... that families can be together for eternity, not just in this earth life.

How I live my faith

I serve as a pianist in the children's organization of our congregation. I am grateful I can share the musical talents our Heavenly Father has given me, and for the opportunity to serve others in that way. The children sing wonderful songs that teach great principles and help bring a special spirit to the meetings. I also serve as a Cub Committee Chairman for the Cub Scout Pack that is chartered with the BSA through our church congregation, as are many others throughout the US. It is a great program that helps boys grow and learn and prepare to be great leaders in the community and church. I have a responsibility to help make sure the program runs smoothly... it's not always easy, but it's worth it. I sing in our church choir. It is a great opportunity to serve and share my talents. Music is an important part of all of our church meetings. I spend as much time as I can as a volunteer at my own children's school. I think it is important to step up and help instead of sitting back and letting other do the work, especially when we see a need that isn't being filled. It is too easy to complain about how things are run when we aren't involved first hand, trying to make a difference. I enjoy being involved and getting to know other parents as we work together to make sure our children have the best experience possible. Jesus Christ spent His whole life serving others, and I try to follow His example. I hope that by serving I am able to be a make a difference in the lives of those around me.
