Hi I'm Pam
I am a mother of 5, a sister to 9 and a wife to 1 great guy. I'm a Mormon.
My husband and I just celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary. We have 5 children, 4 boys and 1 girl. I love spending time with my family in the outdoors. I live near the mountains where I love to hike, camp, rock climb and ride horses. I live on a mini-farm. We have a milk cow, horses, chickens, rabbits, and cats. I enjoy trying to live providently. As a family we love to read, we read everywhere we go. We have enjoyed many great books as a family. I am always trying to find balance between being a wife, a mom, and a friend...but who isn't.
Why I am a Mormon
I am grateful that I am a mormon. I was born into an active LDS home, but like everyone, I had to learn for myself if it was all true. I think that we all will someday have a reason to ask those BIG questions. Where did I come from? Why am I here? Where am I going when I die? And is it all worth it? For me it was when I was 12. My father passed away suddenly and my mom was left to raise 10 children alone. I needed to know if what I had been taught my entire life was true. I had to find peace, and so I prayed. That night I recieved a sure answer that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I learned that my family unit does not end at death but extends through eternity. I discovered a pattern of needing, asking through prayer and recieving. The scriptures really are true, "For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened", Luke 11:10. I found that I could follow that pattern throughout my life. I know that we have a Father in Heaven that loves us and has created a plan that will allow us to find peace and happiness in this life, no matter the challenges we face. I love my Savior and am grateful for his atoning sacrifice. I make mistakes everyday, and the knowledge that I can repent and be forgiven gives me hope. I know that the Book of Mormon really is another testament of Christ, and I am forever grateful that I have it as a companion to the Bible.
How I live my faith
I love being a wife and a mom. To me there is nothing more sweet than to see my children gaining a desire to do what is right. I am grateful for the chuch where every aspect is focused on family. In our home we read the scriptures everyday, we say our family prayers morning and night, and we spend a night a week learning and enjoying as a family. These are simple things that we have been asked to do by a prophet of God. I am amazed at the blessings that have come from obeying. I imagine our Heavenly Father waiting wanting to give us all of His blessings. He desires us to be as happy as He is. But he is also bound by laws and when we obey a law He is able to bless us. I have found that no matter how much you give to the Lord, you will always receive more in return. Whether it be in tithing, offerings, time or material possesions. He really does love us. I enjoy learning, teaching and serving in our church and community. I serve in our ward's young women's organization with girls that are between the ages of 12-18. I have seen the difference that the gospel can make in the life of a girl that has the desire to choose the right. I have found much happiness and peace in trying to live the gospel. I also love to serve in the temple. The spirit of the Lord is always there and helps me to be a better person.
