Hi I'm Cheri

I'm a mother, a teacher and children's author. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife, a mother of 6, and a grandma. Lately I have interests in yoga, home decorating, and crafts like crochet and jewelry making. I've taught first grade, and have written a book series for children to help them learn social skills.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that Jesus is my Savior, and that through Him and His church, I can return to live with God, my Father, and my family. I'm trying to follow God's will for my life. Through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I can best learn about Him, become like Him and serve others. I believe that Jesus is my Redeemer, and that He loves all of us and has His arms open to us to follow Him. I want to show my devotion to Him in all that I do. And I can find forgiveness through Him when I fall short. I believe that a living prophet guides this church under Jesus Christ's direction and that I am most happy when I am living a life consistent with those teachings.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by raising our children to love God, and one another. Even though we are spread out now, we try to keep in touch. We try to read the scriptures together each evening. After we read a page or two aloud, we each like to share something we were thinking about. I think that praying and pondering on God's will for me are also tools for living my faith.  I also currently have responsibility to oversee the needs of women in our area in our women's organization, Relief Society. I hope that the way I treat people is consistent with my faith that we are all God's children.
