Hi I'm Jocelyn

Being a Mormon has taught me the value and power of being a woman, a mother, and a daughter of God.

About Me

When I was a TV producer, I met and interviewed celebrities, politicians, and dignitaries! Now my days are filled with the joy, blessings, challenges, and messes of my four young children and a loving husband. Through my experiences, I have confirmed what my own mother taught me: that no occupation is more divine or ennobling than that of being a Mother!

Why I am a Mormon

My mother, grandmother and great-grandmother were all converts to the church. Their testimonies and that of my father and other ancestors built a firm foundation for my own. When I graduated and left home, I learned first-hand how the teachings of this gospel can lead us safely and joyfully through the sometimes rocky waters of life. I am a Mormon, because during difficult times, the Lord has always been by my side.  I know that Jesus Christ is real and that He leads this church.

How I live my faith

Writing is one way that I express the deep feelings of love that I have for my Savior. I live my faith by telling others about the gospel of Jesus Christ through my blog and teaching my children to love God, serve others, and hopefully grow up to make the world a better place.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost is a being of spirit who acts according to the will of God. He testifies of Christ and teaches man that God exists. The Holy Ghost has played a very important role in my life as I have made decisions both large and small. It is comforting to know that because I have been baptized into the Lord's church, I can have the Holy Spirit to be with me at all times to help me make even small decisions wisely. As a teenager, it helped me to avoid making major mistakes that are difficult to bounce back from. The gift of the Holy Ghost has become even more valuable to me as a Mother. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

We are baptized in our temples for those who did not have the opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ in this life. These people--friends, loved ones, and ancestors-- can then choose whether or not to accept the gospel. It is the most fair and merciful plan I have ever heard. Show more Show less

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

I believe that Mothers have the power to combat the evils of our day, one child, one bedtime story, and one encouraging conversation at a time. When we teach our children about their worth as children of God, they will find confidence in themselves, and they will be armed with the power to make correct choices and the wisdom to recognize that following Jesus Christ is the path to true happiness. What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Mormons believe in Jesus Christ, that he is the son of God and the Savior of the world. We believe that he came to earth to show us the way to live a good and happy life. He suffered for our sins and died for us, and was resurrected, making it possible for everyone to return to the presence of our Father in Heaven. We believe that He lives. We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of this Church, that he leads and directs it through prophets, as he has done throughout the history of the earth. Everything in the gospel points to Jesus Christ, to his sacrifice for us, to the hope of living with him and with our families forever, after this life is finished. Show more Show less

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

The role of husband and wife in the family is to first and foremost love each other! Wow, revolutionary!!! I have found that when there is love and complete commitment between my husband and I, there is no problem that we cannot face together. It is much easier to teach the children with love and to handle life's challenges. My husband and I are equals. I feel loved, respected, and appreciated by him. I hope he feels the same things from me. Show more Show less
