Hi I'm Marie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is Marie. I am a BYU graduate living & working in Draper, Utah. By study I am a writer and historian. By experience I am an avid camper and lover of the outdoors. Aside from being with my family nothing makes me happier than relaxing in a hammock in the woods. I have lived all over the world--Washington, D.C., Hawaii, and Germany included. I love to learn and explore new places.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to the LDS Church as young girl when two missionaries knocked on my family's door and offered to teach us about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It wasn't an easy decision for our family and there were many discussions regarding whether or not we should choose to be involved with this group of people. Ultimately, each member of my family prayed and recieved a confirmation regarding our eternal ptiential as a family unit. We love each other and knew we wanted to be together forever. After taking the discussions we made baptismal covenants to follow Christ and become more like Him. Following those covenants we went to the House of the Lord, the temple, to build upon our baptismal covenants and be sealed to one another for eternity. This has been an edifying memory as our family has grown and developed. No matter my physical distance from my family members I am always united in the assurance that we will be together for eternity as a result of our sacred covenants. After I had made these covenants with my family I knew that I wanted a companion that would make those same promises with me, to be united in this life an the next. I lived my life in a way that I would be worthy to follow the Lord's will. When I met the man that would become my husband I knew we held the same values--our family is and always will be the most important thing to us. Our love for each other and for the Gospel of Jesus Christ encouraged us to be married and sealed in the temple. I am grateful for the Gospel in my life and for the opportunity I have to live with my family in this life and the next.

How I live my faith

I love to share what I know about my Heavenly Parents. Talking with others about my love for the Savior brings me peace and happiness. When I am surrounded by the serenity of nature I feel close with my Creator and exhilarated for what my role here on earth will be. In 2001 I was sealed to my family for eternity in the St. Louis, Missouri temple. In 2012 I was sealed & married to my best friend and now eternal companion. The message of Jesus Christ lets me know that I can be with my loved ones for eternity. I am so grateful for loving Heavenly Parents who lead & guide me.

In whom should we have faith?

We should have faith in our Heavenly Father & Mother. Together as a unit they guided us and taught us before we came to Earth. Just as we have a father and a mother on this physical earth, the same is true for our Celestial Parentage. They are the Higher Powers than lead us a teach us in the ways of righteousness and truth. In my life, when I have faith in and rely on a power greater than myself, I am always much more enric hed than I would have been if I relied on my own knowledge and understanding. Show more Show less
