Hi I'm Jessica

I work at a school. I love being outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love hiking and camping! The outdoors is where I recharge, and one of the best places for me to feel Heavenly Father's love. I also enjoy reading, traveling, learning, and doing family history.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church, but I am Mormon because I have felt for myself the Spirit confirming that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. I know from experience that I am happiest when I choose to live the way the Savior taught. I have prayed about the Book of Mormon, I have prayed about the Church, and I know that they are true. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet, that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet, and that Heavenly Father loves all of His children and wants us to return to Him. In the Church, we have the covenants necessary to help us return. I am Mormon because I have felt the love of my Heavenly Father, the love of my Savior, and the confirming witness of the Spirit.

How I live my faith

I have held various positions in the Church. I am also actively involved in family history work. However, really living my faith is done day to day and moment to moment. When I read my scriptures in the morning, when I say nothing instead of responding in anger, when I reach out to someone in love - these are all ways I strive to live my faith. I want to be the kind of woman that Heavenly Father wants me to be, and I know that's possible by keeping His commandments.

What is the Relief Society?

Relief Society is the women's organization in the Church. We have a class each Sunday as part of our three-hour church meeting. We also meet more informally at other times to give service or to learn skills. For example, we might put together school kits to be shipped to areas in need. Or we might learn basic car maintenance or how to make freezer jam. The activities are varied, but Relief Society meetings are always a wonderful way to make and strengthen friendships with women who share my values, and to feel the love of the Lord.
