Hi I'm Jeff
I'm a 38 year old Logistics Manager for an Agricultural Equipment Distributor in California and I enjoy Fly Fishing and exploring California's beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains in my spare time. I take a special interest in U.S. History and the U.S. Constitution. I believe that America's Founding Fathers were Divinely inspired and that freedom can prosper only through faith in and obedience to God. I proudly served in the U.S. Navy during Operation Desert Storm. My wife and I have one child, a nine year old boy. My family is my greatest blessing and they bring me unlimited amounts of joy. Because of their unconditional love and long suffering I was able to overcome a potentially tragic struggle with multiple addictions. I am grateful for their sacrifice and love them eternally.
Why I am a Mormon
I am a naturally curious person who questions conventional wisdom and tests everything I'm told. My religion challenges me to ask questions about the beginning, the end of this life and all things beyond and to experiment upon the precepts of The Book of Mormon. I am a Mormon because The Lord wants us to "find Him" and only the true Gospel can show me how.
How has the Book of Mormon helped you understand the purpose of life?
Life is a learning process. We are here to become masters of our destiny. 2 Nephi explains "Wherefore it must needs be that there is opposition in all things". This single statement gives me comfort and purpose, not because things usually don't go the way I want them to, but because every time I experience a painful or tough event in my life I learn a better way to approach the same situation the next time. We are given families and friends to help pull us through the really difficult tests. As we progress, we become "gurus" so to speak and are able to evade the snares of evil and bondage which lead to misery and our eventual destruction. The purpose of life is to be happy and free, the Book of Mormon is a guide that will get us there.
How I live my faith
I live my faith by reminding those around me who are struggling that things aren't always as bad as they seem and that with a little effort on our part God can and will help us do amazing things.
