Hi I'm Jesse

This is my life and I am a Mormon.

About Me

As a husband, father, and recent college graduate, I find life to be more rewarding than ever before and it keeps getting better. Professionally, I specialize in promoting adoption of healthy lifestyle habits by creating programs for individuals and communities. Personally, I love to travel close to home or abroad; I find the same rewarding experiences no matter where I am in the world. Also, I find great joy in the outdoors of God's creation, whether I am fishing, mountain biking, backpacking, or on a picnic I feel most at home when in nature. Most of all, I find no greater joy than when I am with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

In the most simple way I can possibly explain, I am a Mormon because... it just makes sense. Everything from deity to living prophets on earth today, it just makes sense. Most importantly, I am a Mormon because Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ have never forgotten me. Growing up in poverty was never easy, but it prepared me in a way I never thought possible. With a divided family and spending most of my time with friends, there was no thought of religion. Life was about asking the "Why" question and dreaming of a better "lifestyle". Although I knew there was a greater purpose in life, I had no direction and everyday was mundane and repetitive. At age 21, I was living on my own and working a lot; I wasn't happy with my lifestyle, but I didn't understand why. I came across a book called Preach My Gospel. This is where I first learned about Joseph Smith and the restoration of the church. That knowledge started answering questions and I began to understand the purpose of life. Within a matter of months, I returned home, attended church, converted and served a mission one year later. Over the past several years, I have constantly thought of events in my life, before my conversion, where the Savior protected and guided me. I realized that I was never alone or abandoned, I just needed understanding. I have no idea how I happened to have a copy of Preach My Gospel with me, but I am grateful for God and His son Jesus Christ who never forgot me.

How I live my faith

Everyday begins with a prayer; I seek God's strength and love to help me in all my endeavors. I accomplish and become more in life when all is handed over to a loving Father in Heaven. Currently, I am serving as a leader for the youth of the ward. With the help of other great men and women, I help correlate lessons and activities that teach the youth how to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. Everything I teach the youth, is centered on Jesus Christ and the principles He taught and continues to teach through living prophets.
