Hi I'm Aaron Lewis

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Oregon. I went to college and got married in Utah, and now I'm a consultant in Texas. I Love Jesus.

About Me

I love spending time with my family. I love to play sports and do activities with them, but most of all I just enjoy spending time with them chatting about Life, God, Sports, Politics, and reminiscing about growing up. I love sports. I love playing good competitive pick up games of Basketball, Soccer, Football, Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee, etc. I also probably spend too much time watching and following sports. I follow college football too closely. I'm currently a Junior in college majoring in Economics and I'm minoring in Political Science and Business Strategy. I love learning about everything, especially economics, politics, business, history, and physical science.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been Mormon. My parents are Mormon all 13 of my siblings are Mormon and so have all my ancestors for many generations. Though this is why I went to church as a youngster, this is not why I continue to try and be the best Mormon I can be. I continue to believe the teachings of Christ and his servants because I know it is true. I know God is real. I know God sent his Son Jesus Christ to the earth to atone for the sins of the world. I know he called Joseph Smith to be a prophet to restore the fullness of the gospel. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God. It is scripture and has brought me closer to God than any other book or person could. I know Thomas S. Monson carries that same Prophetic Mantle and calling that Joseph Smith, Noah, Moses, etc. had. The reason I know these things is because I have prayed about it. I have asked God, and he has made himself known to me through his Spirit. He has confirmed the truthfulness of all those things to me through inexpressible feelings of assurance, warmth, and joy. This testimony has been confirmed by the immense joy and happiness that has come as I've followed the teachings of Christ. When I follow the words of the Prophets I have found nothing but joy. When I have followed my own desires that are contrary to God's will I have found temporary happiness, but it always has led to sadness and pain. Righteousness is always happiness. I want to be happy and I want those around me to happy forever, and being a Mormon is the way to do that.

How I live my faith

Everyday I try to do a little bit better job of being a disciple of Jesus Christ. I stumble and fall spiritually far too often, but my Savior is there for me everyday to pick me up and forgive me as long as I'm willing to try to do better. Living one's faith is much more than attending church meetings, reading religious texts, and prayer though all those things are absolutely vital and essential. I think a true measure of someone's commitment to God is in the way the treat those around them. Christ is my perfect role model and hero because the way he loved everyone. The way he treated everyone with such kindness and compassion. He loved people enough to show a perfect example, to teach them how to be happy, and most importantly he loved us enough to suffer, die, and be resurrected for us. I try to follow Christ's example of giving my life to him by loving and serving others. Most importantly loving and serving those in my family. I go to church each week, study my scriptures daily, pray at least twice a day, and attend other meetings and classes as part of my faith, but I do these things not just to do them. I do them because I want to be a better disciple of Christ. I want to be better prepared to be a good husband, father, son, sibling, neighbor, and friend. That is how I try and live my faith.

What is the priesthood?

Aaron Lewis
The Priesthood is the power of God given to man to serve and bless others. It is not a sign of power like a crown, nor a gift only for those most talented, wealthy, or connected. It is a power on the earth that can and does bless the lives of everyone who allows it to. Show more Show less
