Hi I'm Lindsay

Hi I’m Lindsay. I’m a law grad, foodie, and film enthusiast. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a law graduate who just took the Bar Exam, and I'm excited to see where life takes me and what God has in store for my life. Born in Indiana, I have lived in many places and have always found other cultures fascinating. I served a Spanish-speaking mission in California and am so grateful for what I learned and the opportunity for service I had daily as a full-time missionary. When I have downtime, you will find me watching an artsy film or TV show, eating at a funky restaurant, reading about current events, or discovering new music. Most importantly, I love my Savior Jesus Christ and treasure my relationship with him.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Mormon, and as a child I always believed in Jesus Christ and knew he loved me. As I grew older, I wanted to know if the things I had learned about Christ and his gospel were true. I began reading The Book of Mormon and praying to know if it was really another testament of Jesus Christ and if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was Christ’s church brought back through a modern prophet, Joseph Smith. Through study and prayer, I felt the undeniable peace and love of my Savior and knew he was telling me that what I had been taught and believed all my life was true and real. I continue to feel those warm and peaceful feelings whenever I read the Book of Mormon, listen to a principle of the gospel being taught at church, or experience the benefits of keeping the commandments of Jesus Christ. I love being a Mormon, and I am committed to staying on this path that I believe will lead me back to my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by personally connecting with God and through involvement in church and the community. I connect to God individually through prayer and by reading Jesus Christ’s teachings. I try to show my Savior my love and appreciation for him by doing my best to follow his commandments and keep the promises I have made to him. My personal faith leads me to worship with my church congregation and to seek out ways to serve others in my community. I believe God has a plan for me, and living my faith is the way I go about discovering it and fulfilling it.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the world. Everything I have ever learned through my membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has reinforced and solidified this belief in my mind and heart. We believe that only through Jesus Christ's sacrifice can we be forgiven of sin and live again after death. Jesus Christ's role as Savior is central to God's plan for all of his children. God wants us to be happy, to grow and progress in life, and to ultimately become more like him and live with him forever. This is possible only through Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are individuals, unique and different from each other. We come from diverse backgrounds and cultures, and it is difficult to generalize what we are like. However, a common belief in Jesus Christ and a commitment to living as Mormons unites us. Jesus Christ treated men and women equally, and Mormons believe in the equality of men and women. Each woman lives in different circumstances and may fulfill various roles in life, but she can trust that God sees all people and both sexes as beloved children of God, each with a divine purpose and plan for his or her life.
