Hi I'm Lorald

I currently live in Vancouver Washington. I grew up in Eastern Utah. I work for the power company. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a loving wife and two wonderful children. I know it might be strange but I like to work on my yard. I get satisfaction from knowing my hands made something beautiful. I also like playing with radios. I am a ham radio operator and like to talk with others on the radio.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon Church but didn't really know why I believed what I did until I served a mission in Russia. There I learned that people are the same no matter what nationality we belong to. We are all children of the same Father in Heaven. I learned and was priveleged to teach my brothers and sisters about Jesus Christ and what he did for all of us. He truly died and was ressurected so that we can all repent of our sins and return to live with Heavenly Father again. One aspect of the Gospel that I love to teach is that of Forever Families. We beleive that families can be sealed together by the authority of God in the Temple for time and all eternity. Families are not just for this life. They are forever. That statement bring me great joy and comfort to know that I will be with my wife and children again after this life.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in a position in our ward which allows me to work closely with the youth of our church. They keep me feeling young. They have such strong testimonies of our Savior Jesus Christ. I think I am learning more from them then they are of me.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Lorald
Joseph Smith was a young man of 14 years when he was confused about which church to join. He lived in upstate NY early in the 19th century when like today there were many different religious ideas. Joseph wanted to know which church was true. He understood from the Bible that Christ organized His church when He lived on the earth. Joseph wanted to find that church. He soon discovered from a passage in the Bible that he needed to ask God in faith which church was true. He knew God would answer his prayer. He went to a grove of trees where he was alone and knelt in prayer to God. In answer to his prayer God the Father and His son Jesus Chist appeared to him. They told Joseph not to join any of the churches. He was later instructed to restore Christ's church back to the earth once more. Show more Show less
