Hi I'm Donnie

I'm a student at Auburn University, I served a two year mission in Utah to invite others to come unto Jesus Christ, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I joined the Church when I was 19, while I was attending Auburn University. I grew up around heavy Baptist and Methodist influences. Before I met with the missionaries I didn't believe in God. The Church has changed my life unlike anything else could. I LOVE College football. Water is my paradise. I love snow as long as I am riding it on a board.

Why I am a Mormon

My best friends growing up were of the Mormon faith. We graduated high school and my best friend Tyler went off for his mission. While he was there he referred the missionaries to me, and soon after I had two guys my age in suits and name tags knocking on my door, "Hey are you Donnie? Tyler sent us." They taught me that when Christ was on the earth, he set up his Church. After Christ was crucified, his Church was changed, then Jesus Christ's church was brought back to it's original form THROUGH Joseph Smith. All of the principles and doctrines taught not only made sense, but also helped me understand how to find a greater happiness. I could also imagine it for my family and future family. I knew that IF everything the missionaries told me was true, then the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was God's Church on the earth. One night after a long day of classes and work, I read a few scriptures from the Book of Mormon. After reading, I knelt down beside my bed and began to sincerely pray. "Heavenly Father, I don't even know if you are real, but I want to know. I want to know if everything the missionaries have told me is true. Is the Book of Mormon true?" I waited a few moments. A slight feeling of warmth and comfort overcame me. I remembered the missionary lessons in my mind and they all made sense, like a giant puzzle piecing together! I had the tremendously comforting feeling that Heavenly Father did exist and that he was listening intently to my prayer even at that moment. That was the Holy Ghost that I was feeling, and it has continued to teach me great truths to this day. I told the missionaries that I wanted to be baptized, and that I too wanted to serve a mission. It is my hope that this story has caused you to desire to know for yourself if this is the church with all of God's truth as claimed. Once you have opened your heart, meet with the missionaries, and ask God if it is true. I promise you the Holy Ghost will tell you that it is.

How I live my faith

Right now I actually put my college career on hold to serve a two year mission. I want everyone to know what I know about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I want them to have the happiness I know comes from nowhere else but here.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Temples are there so that we can make sacred promises with our Father in Heaven. We also allow all of those who have passed away to make these sacred promises for themselves. The promises we make in the temple are with Heavenly Father and personal. If we keep our promises, blessings will follow even for an eternity. We want every single person to receive those blessings. Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Jesus Christ, when he was on the earth, set up God's Church. After he was resurrected, that Church was changed and lost by man. That Church has been brought back through a man named Joseph Smith. If you knew God's one true Church was on the Earth, and through it was the only way to live for eternity with our families and loved ones, wouldn't you want to go tell everyone? Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Our purpose for our lives here is to bring every single person to the knowledge of the word of God, so they can have the blessings that follow. Our purpose should reflect God's and Christ's: "To bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man." Show more Show less
