Hi I'm Cheryl

I believe in the importance of strong families and maintaining high standards. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am Cheryl. I have been married almost a year and am so thankful for the blessing of a precious companion. I have taught elementary school for five years and have come to love and appreciate the pureness of little children. My husband is still in school and we are struggling to get him through. I my spare time I enjoy reading, sewing, a good game of dodgeball and being together with family!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been going to church for as long a I can remember. I was raised in a good family full of warmth and love. I feel that I often "borrowed" my parents testimony growing up. However, I have had many experiences of my own that have taught me that the Book of Mormon is true, and that there is a plan and purpose to my life and that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me. When I was in tenth grade, I decided to read the Book of Mormon cover to cover to find out if it was true. I knew the contents of the Book of Mormon pretty well because we always had family scripture study growing up and I had gone to Sunday School my whole life. But because I came up with the idea all by myself, it made it more special to me. I set aside a little time each night to read. Before I finished the Book of Mormon, I knew it was true. I felt the Holy Ghost teaching me. I felt a powerful feeling of love and security that I knew was the Savior's love for me. The knowledge of that love has helped me everyday of my life.

How I live my faith

My husband and I accepted a call to teach a 16 year old sunday school class at our church. This is a bit out of our comfort zone, but we are surprised by how much our love has grown for the members of our little class. We know that the Lord was able to help us feel His love for them. My husband and I also like to help out family and neighbors as much as we can through volunteer babysitting, yard work or house cleaning.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Cheryl
In our church, we receive the gift of the holy ghost after baptism by the laying on of hands. This means that as we live worthy, the Holy Ghost can dwell within us continually. The holy ghost will guide us to make correct choices. It also testifies of our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. It comforts us when we are lonely, sick or discouraged. If we follow the Holy Ghost's promptings, we can return to our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
