Hi I'm Kasey

I'm a young husband and father. I love spending time with my wife and kids. I love to share a good laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a young husband and father. I love spending time with my wife and kids. For work, I am an attorney. I like helping people and teaching. I have lived in multiple states in the U.S. and have spent considerable time overseas serving, working, and traveling in Europe and parts of Asia. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Russia and am fluent in Russian. I have fun singing, playing tennis, and watching movies. I also enjoy using computers and solving problems.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it's true. I did what the missionaries ask those who are learning about the Church to do: I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to Heavenly Father in Jesus' name to know whether it was true. Heavenly Father answered my prayers through the Holy Ghost. I felt that it was true and I knew that that feeling was from Heavenly Father. I have felt that feeling again and again as I have studied the word of the Lord in the Book of Mormon and applied His teachings in my life. I continue to feel the Holy Ghost as I strive to follow the Gospel. I am happier because I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

One of the ways I live my faith is by including in regular conversations I have with people. When people ask me about my weekend, I tell them about the things I did on Saturday and about going to church on Sunday. I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior and I try very hard to share that with others around me. On Sundays, I go to church with my family. My wife and I do our best to keep our kids quiet and in the pew for sacrament meeting. Sacrament meeting is where we pray, sing, and most importantly, partake of bread and water in remembrance of Jesus Christ. We also listen to members share talks on Gospel topics. After that, we take our kids to their classes and I go to Gospel Principles. It's a Sunday school class that goes over the core tenets of the Gospel, one at a time. My wife's class is Gospel Doctrine. It is a study of the scriptures that includes the Holy Bible, Book of Mormon, and other books of scripture. After that, I go to Elders Quorum for a meeting with other men, where we are taught from the Teachings of the Presidents of the Church. My wife attends Relief Society with the other church sisters, and they too are taught from the Teachings of the Presidents of the Church. Sometimes, I have other meetings for my church calling. I have had many different callings over the years, including teaching children, youth, and adults, and coordinating preparation of the sacrament. Each month, another church brother and I go visit our home teaching families. Home teaching is where each member/family has a pair of church brethren to look out for and help them. We go visit and share a message from the leaders of the church and help them with their needs. Examples include blessing them when they are sick, helping them find work, helping them move, or just offering encouragement in the face of life's challenges. I have had wonderful experiences serving others as a home teacher and in turn being served by my home teachers.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We do not worship Joseph Smith. We worship God, our Heavenly Father, and honor His Son Jesus Christ. We thank our Heavenly Father for giving us prophets, including Joseph Smith, in these times as well as in ancient times. We pray to our Heavenly Father in Jesus' name. Show more Show less
