Hi I'm Shane

I'm a technology loving, science studying, engineering enthusiast, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been a software engineer for the last 12 years, and am currently in the Physics program at the local state university. I have a wonderful wife and five wonderful children. I love playing chess, stratego, checkers, mastermind, and just about any other logical game. I enjoy mountain biking, but I rarely get out to do it.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was young, my whole family always went to the Mormon church. At one point I wanted to explore other churches. My father told me I could. I did a lot of praying and soul searching. After some time, I just knew where I belonged. Over time, the Lord would bless me with some way to know where he wanted me. If the Lord was that patient with me, I felt I owed him my commitment to His gospel.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday. Once a month I visit the same four families, to make sure they're doing alright and encourage them to always do what is right. Every Sunday I take a few minutes to encourage members to share the gospel and be good examples to others. I meet with the missionaries often, and we help each other be successful in our efforts to share the gospel.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

They will focus on teaching basic principles and doctrines of the church, such as Jesus Christ and his role as the Savior, modern prophets, and the divinity of the Book of Mormon. They will also be happy to answer any questions you have. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Go to the source of all truth-God the Father-and ask Him. He will make it known to you by the power of the Holy Ghost. God loves his children, and desires to bless them, and will answer your sincere questions. Show more Show less
