Hi I'm Robert Floyd Larson

I'm a Mormon. I am from Southern Utah. I am a college student. I am a husband and father.

About Me

I have been married to my wife since 2009, We just had a baby boy this past month (June 2010). I like to read fiction books like Work and the Glory. I served a mission for the Church in Winnipeg Canada. I have been home since 2003. I am a college student. I am the only active member besides my wife in my family. My wife and I are preparing to be sealed in the Temple.

Why I am a Mormon

My grandmother brought me up with the knowledge of the Restored Gospel when I was in my early youth. When she could not go to church with me, one of my friends took me with them. I have always felt the spirit while learning about the Gospel. I have known for a fact that it is true because of the demeanor of those who raised me. I returned to live with my mother after a brief period of being with my grandmother. I sought out the missionaries and took the lessons because I wanted to be baptized. I had not had the chance to go to church when I moved back with my mom. When I was 9, i had the opportunity of embracing what I already knew to be true in my life. I know that Jesus Christ suffered for me and that he loves me. I love him very much.

How I live my faith

I find joy in associating with people I meet, whether it be at the grocery store or at my workplace. If I do not know someone, I go out of my way to befriend them. When I find out that somebody needs my help, I try to be one of those people who voulenteer rather than to be asked. When asked to serve in the church, I always accept any call that the Bishop extends to me and my wife does the same. I love to go to the Temple with my wife. I am not perfect, I do not know everything. I am willing to be taught line upon line, precept upon precept. Here a little, there a little. I am greatful for the knowledge the Lord has blessed me with.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Robert Floyd Larson
The way I found the Book of Mormon and mormonism in general to be true is by reading the selection that the missionaries had me read, which is found in the book of Moroni, last book in the Book of Mormon. Chapter 10 verses 3 thru 5, and commit to it's challenges within. 1-Read the Book of Mormon and listen to God's messengers. 2-Ponder what you have just read and were taught in your heart. 3-Ask God if these things you have just read or heard are true. 4-Ask with a sincere heart, having faith in Jesus Christ *he will manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost. *5-By the power of the Holy Ghost you may know the truth of ALL things. I know that if these following steps are followed by the sincere and honest in heart, the Holy Ghost will manifest the truth of this great and marvelous work. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Robert Floyd Larson
Not all Mormons are required to serve missions. The reason is because there are many opportunities to serve right in their own community. There are mormons who, because of circumstances, that can not travel long distances. They are often called to serve within their congergations.Sisters are encouraged to focus on finding a young man and getting married, and if they choose to serve the Lord in missionary service, may do so after the age of 21.
