Hi I'm Garrett Roos

I'm a swimmer, I'm an actor, I love my family, I love Nutella and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Since my birth in Lich Germany I have been looking for adventure. This attitude has led me to the bottoms of oceans and to the tops of mountains. I love anything that includes water, like competitive swimming, sailing, scuba diving, snowboarding, boating, cliff jumping, and just about any other activity you can associate with water. My dear mother put me on a swim team in St. George Utah when I was about nine. This became an obsession of mine. I was on the swim team in high school and I worked as a Swim Instructor for an athletic club. Another love I have, that is surprisingly outside of the realm of water, is theatre. I have been performing on stage actually longer than I have been swimming. My love for music and possibly my incessant need for attention has driven me to audition for any musical that comes my way. I love doing things that make me feel like I’m living life to the fullest whether that means swimming the 100 Butterfly or playing the lead role under hot stage lights. From here I want to work on a degree in Film or digital editing. We'll see what life has in store for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon, or a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, because I was born into a family who are all members. At the age of eight, this gave me the chance to make the choice to follow Jesus Christ by being baptized, which is the way we join Christ's Church. Just as important as that decision has been my choice to continue to follow my Savior by keeping His commandments. As I make decisions day to day, The Holy Ghost constantly lets me know if I have made good choices and in some cases bad ones. I Feel God's love knowing that I am keeping the commitment I made to follow His Son at baptism. When I make mistakes, even big mistakes, I am consoled knowing that through the Grace of Jesus Christ I can be forgiven and I can be made stronger than I was before. I am Mormon Because I know it is the Truth, and I know that it contains every necessary principle for life and salvation.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by looking for ways to help others come closer to Jesus Christ. I have done this in the past through service to others. I received my Eagle Scout award for refurbishing a very old cemetery. I am currently living my faith by serving as a full time missionary for the church in southern California.
