Hi I'm Robert Miller

I grew-up in NE OK. I'm a Mormon. I'm a first generation member of the Church.

About Me

I enjoy most outdoor hobbies but am passionate about downhill skiing and fly fishing. Living in Colorado has made it much easier to be active in both. Fortunately, my wife and I enjoy these hobbies too and we do them together. Since 1976, I've been happily married to my beautiful wife and sweetheart. We met at BYU. My wife and I are both converts to the Church. We have 4 wonderful children and 4 of the most adorable grand-children we could have ever hoped for. We love to be with our family. I've spent the majority of my professional career as a custom home builder. Based on my experience of marketing and selling the custom homes I have built, just recently I took a real estate course and passed the broker exam to become a real estate broker.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church in April of 1963 at the age of 10. In 2013 it will be 50-years since I joined the church. The Mormon missionaries knocked on our door and my dear mother with 6-young children happened to be home. She invited them in and these wonderful young men shared a message that deeply impressed her. Afterward, she talked to us about what she had heard and said these young men were scheduled to return and share more of their message. At the time, I was attending an evangelical church. The evangelical church's teachings had made an impression on me. And despite my young age, I can nevertheless say that I was deeply religious and felt a strong need to please God. After several invitations to listen to the missionaries, my older brother convinced me that I should listen. The experience of listening to the missionaries almost 50-years later still is a priceless experience. As the message of the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was taught to me, I knew then beyond any doubt what I was taught was the truth. Our Eternal Father in Heaven had called Joseph Smith in his innocence of youth to be his oracle of truth. Through sincere prayer and an abiding desire to know the truthfulness of this message, I was revealed by the power of the Holy Ghost it was an answer to my earnest prayer from God. Since my baptism I have been richly blessed and will I never regret my decision to become a member of this Church. What a blessing it is know the purpose of life!

How I live my faith

It is through an ever-growing and developing faith that I follow and seek sincerely to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Becoming a member of this Church has been my very best decision. Because I elected so long ago to be baptized, it has enabled me to receive some of God's most choice blessings. In the ensuing years after my baptism, I became a full-time missionary for 2-wonderful years as a witness of the Lord Jesus Christ. Later, I attended Brigham Young University where I met my sweetheart and wife of 35 wonderful years. We committed in an eternal marriage covenant made in the temple of our Lord to be husband and wife ...not until death would separate us, but rather we were sealed by divine authority to be married for this life and for all eternity. One of my greatest appreciations for the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is it's glorious doctrine that family relationships are intended to be eternal. It is the longing of all good family men and women to believe and hope that their relationships will endure beyond the grave. However, it is only in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints this doctrine is proclaimed as divine and is part of the Lord's Plan of Salvation. Despite the hardships, the trials, and the challenges that come in life, I feel like I can meet them with confidence and determination. My conviction is that Jesus Christ will be there for me and not just me but all those who love and serve him. With the guidance given through prayer, the Holy Scriptures including modern revealed scripture, also the promptings of the Holy Ghost, and the direction given through a living prophet of God, we can truly overcome all trials and can prepare ourselves for eternal life. My testimony is this: the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ as revealed to the Prophet Joseph Smith is true. It has the power to make bad men (women) good; good men better; and the best of men better than they have ever been before.
