Hi I'm Brandon

Im a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I am 24 years old and am currently working as a baker full-time in Provo, Utah. I grew up in the Midwestern United states in suburbs of Cincinnati, Nashville, Detroit, and Chicago. I come from a family consisting of 2 brothers and three sisters. I am the second born in the family. Family is huge in my life along with my beliefs. I am also an avid sports fan. Having been born in Ohio I am a die hard Ohio State Buckeye! College football is one of my passions. I also love anything Disney. I have a great love and a talent for baking desserts, especially cookies. I have catered for one wedding reception as well as several parties/events. Along with English, which is my first language, I also speak Spanish after serving a two year church mission in New York City.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I was born and raised in a Mormon family. My parents are both really strong in the church and I grew up always attending my church meetings. However, I am still a member of the church because of the witnesses I have received after praying to my Father in Heaven. I went through a time in High School when I held little self-esteem. I needed to know if God was real, if he was my father, and if he loved me. So I prayed really hard to receive an answer to those questions. Later I felt Heavenly Father's love for me. It was one of the more powerful experiences and feelings I had had. I knew that He lived and loved me. I felt really good about it and it also just made sense to me. Because of receiving this answer, I knew as well that God answers prayers. Not all of my prayers have been answered in the same powerful way, but the answers have come nonetheless. By that same process of praying and studying for myself I now have a testimony of this church, the Book of Mormon, the Atonement of Jesus Christ, living prophets, and many other wonderful truths.

How I live my faith

I try really hard to best live my faith. I am so far from perfect and I always need help. I do my best though to be an example, help others, and serve. I have served as a primary teacher teaching kids around the age of seven. I served a two year church mission in New York, mostly Long Island. It was the most amazing experience in my life so far, though it was hard at times. I try hard to be a good home teacher and visit with and help other members. I also try hard to be a good friend and help anybody regardless of whether they share my beliefs. I want people to know that I care for them. I try to be kind and smile. I hope that I can be a good friend to those I meet.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Any member or visitor to a Mormon church service has probably heard or seen members share what they call their testimony. A testimony is a belief, or better said, something that is known inside to be true. For example I have a testimony that the Book of Mormon is true. I know this through my feelings, and experiences I have had. My testimony has come by study, prayer, and a real desire to know of the truth. I received the answer through feelings and a comfort that came by the Holy Ghost that the book was true. Show more Show less
