Hi I'm Nancy

I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My name is Nancy. I am a 31 year old member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have just graduated with my Degree in Art. Finally right?! I am currently working on my Masters in Social Work. My goal is to work with veterans in any branch and help them get back on their feet. I am an old graduate but all the wiser in my opinion. I lived the world, had a career as a Mental Health Counselor before I came back to school. I found school easier cause I had a lot more than just book knowledge when I entered the classroom again. I am an avid genealogist. I got started years ago. It is one big puzzle to me that is never solved but when you connect a piece of family history it's all over. You are hooked! I come from a musical family. I play the piano, trumpet, drums and other instruments. I collect instruments from around the world and teach myself to play them. I love to hang out with my friends and family and read good books when I get the chance. I love watching Football and Baseball and Softball and other sports on TV. Sports are exciting and part of who I am. I LOVE TO SERVE! did I mention that I love to serve because I love it!!! I do not feel complete with serving someone or helping with something. I am just a big ball of love for others and want to be around people any chance i get.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I have been asked this hundreds of times by members and non-members. Always brought up for a different reason. I am Mormon because I believe in Christ. I believe in a God who is the creator of all things. i am Mormon because I prayed about what religion I should follow. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was what I was prompted to search and what I wanted to be baptized into. I am a Mormon because being part of anything else as happy and christian it is does not feel complete. I knew what it was like to feel empty inside spiritually. I am whole again. I never want to feel that empty feeling again. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the church is not always easy but it is worth it. I find that when I read my scriptures and pray every day that my day is smoother and i get the answers that I need faster. I also serve any chance I get. Anyone who knows me knows that I can't say no to a person who needs help whether I know them or not. When our ward has a service activity I am there but the best service done is the service not planned. I saw a picture once long ago when I was first baptized of Jesus washing the feet of his apostles. I was humbled by this site. What might look to some as a menial task is done with utmost love from a perfect man. It made me realize that some of the service we do might come across as not important or menial. But if we serve with love than every task is the most important. I also show this when I do my visiting teaching. Every month we have the opportunity to visit a member of our church. We have the opportunity to show our love and support to someone who may be in need. I love it because I know I am never alone as a member. Someone is always there.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Nancy
This is the question that I have been asked the most. I think it is an important question and I will tell you what members told me when I was a non-member. Pray about it. If you with a sincere heart ask Heavenly Father if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true in all it's teachings, you will have a truthful answer. You will know what is right because Heavenly Father is always looking out for us and wants us to be happy. Pray and you will know. Show more Show less
