Hi I'm Lorrin

I love to Snowboard I'm a Mormon and I am a Missionary in Wisconsin

About Me

My family is from northern Utah where most of us still live. My father passed away when I was about 2 years old and my mom raised me and my 5 brothers from there. We learned a lot from my mom and other family members especially my grandparents. My grandpa continually gave me learning experiences on the farm and I learned a lot working alongside him and brothers. I was attending plumbing school for a short time before I was called to server as a missionary in Wisconsin. I love serving the people of Wisconsin and I learn a lot daily. Before my mission I Snowboarded every winter and always looked forward to some fresh powder. During the summer my friends and I did a lot of Longboarding including an attempt of crossing Utah on a Longboard soon to be retry when my friends and I return from our missions. We have horses and ride them throughout the year including trips to the Uinta Mountains and Wind Rivers. I was getting into Jet Skis before my mission and spent many days with friends and family at the lake camping and riding everyday.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know its true plain and simple. At first going to church with my family was the thing to do I went because they went. When I got older and could start to make my own decisions I started to think if it was something I wanted to do and after a little time I chose to ask God like I had been taught. I asked and after time I received an answer from God. I now know this church is true and it really has a true prophet. This brings me peace in my life knowing that a man on earth really receives revelation from God for me and my family.

How I live my faith

Well right now serving as a missionary I get the opportunity to spend every day for 2 years in Gods service. This involves many things and has brought many opportunities for me to learn and grow as a person. Teaching the Restored Gospel has changed me and has changed they people I have taught out here for the past 20 months. During this time besides teaching people about the Gospel I have been able to teach English/Spanish classes, work in a few food pantries, help out at the YMCA and many other service projects. Before my mission I was able to teach the children in church back home in Utah. This helped me learn how to teach big subjects in the church to little children. Working with them was one of my favorite things to do. I am excited to see how the kids I taught then have grown and learned. Growing up in church also gave me many times to serve as a leader among friends my own age. We did many things together such as camping, service projects, hikes, really long bike rides, boating, studying the scriptures, etc. Looking back on all of that I smile and thank God for the time to do so.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Lorrin
The missionaries could talk about anything when they go to your house. If you have any questions first we would answer those and then if that leads to more questions we will answer those also. If no questions are asked we will teach whatever the Spirit directs. This could be anything really, families, the Book of Mormon, faith, why life is hard sometimes, etc. The gospel can bless us in every part of our life. So when you see the missionaries dont be afraid to ask us questions. Show more Show less
