Hi I'm Sarah.

I'm a good listener. I'm a poet. I'm a nanny putting my husband through school. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am freshly married to a perfectly tall, dark haired, and good looking guy. I am an english major. I love to write. I'm working on several books for children, books for young adults, and a lot of poetry, and my work centers around principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I read way too much; reading fills in all the empty spaces in my life. I also enjoy playing the piano and singing, especially with my husband. At the present I am working as a nanny to put my husband through school. A short time ago I lived in the Philippines and I taught about Jesus Christ. I learned three dialects while I was there. I love the Filipino people and culture! I miss fresh mangos and I miss the faithful people.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my life is so much better when I follow the commandments of God and do what the scriptures teach. I also know what it feels like NOT to follow God, and it does not bring me happiness. I've tested His words and tried to do what is taught, and God has kept every promise to me. Because He has kept His promises, I trust Him.

How I live my faith

I am a young women leader for a small group of girls ages 12-17. They impress the socks off of me! I can't believe how good they are. They give me so much hope for our world. I try as best as I can to follow the commandments and to repent when I mess up. Every day I see room for improvement, but I also try to rejoice over the improvements that I have already made. Life is a wonderful, difficult, fulfilling journey, made much smoother by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Originally Adam, our first father, was taught gospel truths from our Heavenly Father, and he taught them to his children. Because of the people who eventually rejected these truths, there were many different periods of time when the church had to be reestablished by Heavenly Father through other prophets. Moses and Abraham and many others in the Bible taught and restated true principles of the gospel to people who had formerly denied them. Jesus Christ himself officially organized a church when He lived on the earth, which included the leadership of apostles and continuing revelation from our Father in Heaven. When Jesus Christ was crucified and His apostles died, many people changed the doctrines for selfish reasons or through misinterpretation and the gospel became corrupted. Our Father in Heaven removed His authority from the earth because His children were not using it responsibly. Because He loves us, God returned the fulness of His gospel to the earth when He called a prophet in the 1800's. Joseph Smith was given God's authority once again and he called twelve apostles just like in Bible times. This is why it is the Church of Jesus Christ of LATTER-DAY Saints. That same authority has been handed down without interruption to our current prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, who directs and receives revelation for our church today. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. God Himself is the founder of this church. It is eternally relevant and important. Show more Show less
