Hi I'm Brian Parrish

20 years ago I didn't know what a Mormon was. Now I cannot imagine my life without the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

About Me

I'm a husband to a beautiful British wife whom also is a convert to the church. Together we have 4 amazing children from 8 to 18. I'm 45 and joined the LDS Church when I was 26. I've never in my life made such a difficult and rewarding decision. Being LDS is not for the faint of heart or the weak. It takes tremendous work and it is a lifestyle not just something I do on Sundays. The gospel of Jesus Christ provides answers to life's challenges. It has blessed my life in countless ways.

Why I am a Mormon

I didn't know I was looking for the gospel of Jesus Christ until I found it. I moved to Utah after graduating high school. I had only heard the term Mormon a couple of times but really had no idea what it meant. All of us want happiness in life. No one really wants to be miserable. We all have challenges and trials in our lives. That is called normal. Prior to joining the church I never knew where to turn to help deal with these challenges. Now I can turn to the Savior and Heavenly Father in prayer to help get through them.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily. Christ teaches us to love our neighbors as ourselves. That is what I try to do daily. I try to be a little more kind and loving today than I was yesterday. That is my motto. Love people. If they join our faith because of that love then fantastic. If they don't then viola! I've at the very least just made a new best friend.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Brian Parrish
Because I believe it is the word of God to His children upon the earth. It's really no more complicated than that. When I act upon the counsel given in that Holy book, things seem to work out and I enjoy greater happiness. Show more Show less

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Brian Parrish
Thomas S. Monson is the prophet of God on the earth today. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Brian Parrish
It is the most rewarding and difficult lifestyle change I have ever made. Where much is given, much is expected. The Lord asks a lot of his children. They lazy side of me says "go to another church where you only have to attend for an hour and you are not asked to help out. Someone else tickles my ears on Sunday and I go home" The part that recognizes true value says "how fast can I accept another calling?" Show more Show less

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Brian Parrish
The simple fact that this is the true church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. The Plan of Salvation is for all mankind and people are hungry for truth worldwide. If this church was not true I believe it would collapse tomorrow! Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Brian Parrish
We believe that Christ is the literal son of our Heavenly Father. He is our Savior. The Savior of all mankind. We try to become like him in all that we do. Of course we always fall short but he simply asks us to keep on trying. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Brian Parrish
We do not worship Joseph Smith as one worships Jesus Christ or Heavenly Father. We DO have the utmost respect and admiration for rising to the prophetic calling that was placed upon his shoulders. Show more Show less
