Hi I'm Isabel

I am a mother of four and at age 24 I became closer to the Lord. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am mother of four. I have three boys and a little girl. I use to work full time and decided to make the choice to be a stay at home mother. Three out of six of us have food allergies, which is very difficult to deal with, especially when I can not watch them at school. I have multiple health issues which causes me to be less active with my children and it challenges me every day. I learned to get through my challenges and rely on faith.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert of this church. I chose to be a Mormon by prayer, faith, my husband and missionaries. My husband was a member of the church. He would always ask if I would go with him. I refused to be a Mormon because I was of another religion. However, I attended church with him to make him happy. I was not as active in my church because of the many things I saw. I was questioning the church before my husband even asked me to go with him. I started investigating in his church for a year straight. Within that year I repeatly told the missionaries, No I will not take your discussions. Months had passed by with them leaving me alone. Until one day I felt the spirit finally at church because I allowed it in. I thought to myself, If the missionaries came up to me right now, and only right now to ask me to take the discussions I will say yes. That moment the missionaries came up to me and asked me to take the discussions. I was speechless and just nodded my head yes. With Faith and prayer I eventually was baptized within months. I know that this church is the true church. I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ knows each and every one of us and he is there for each and every one of us. I know this to be true because I feel it in my bosom. My heart is full, my eyes are opened, My life is full of joy.

How I live my faith

In our church we participate in helping others by doing lots of service work. We help aid people in disasters by distributing them water and food. Inside our church I was called to do compassionate Service. I helped with whoever needed helped. If someone had a baby I would arrange to see what help was needed. Do they need dinner for a few nights, help cleaning the house, or maybe babysitting for other siblings. I helped arrange rides for elderly. I called on people when they were sick. I would put others in front of me just like our Savior did. I truly strive to live like our Savior.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Isabel
Mormon women are the same as any other woman. We sing, we dance, we play outside, we even laugh. Yes. We do believe in equality of men and women. However, we believe we have different responsibilities just as every person on this earth has. Women are given a precious gift which is to bare another life. Men are given a precious gift as well and that is to hold the priesthood. If men live faithfully and righteously they hold what we call the Priesthood. We do not ask the men to bare children nor do we ask them to give us the priesthood. Show more Show less
