Hi I'm Tom

I grew up on a family farm. I'm an architect and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I learned as a young boy the value of work, growing up on a small family dairy and cattle farm. I was blessed to have parents who understood the value of having not only quality family time but also quantity family time together. I have a wonderful wife and 4 kids who are the source of my greatest happiness in life. I have found that as I learn to live life for others, especially my family, it opens the door to true joy and understanding of who I really am. Architecture is my profession and also my favorite hobby. My wife is often uncomfortable riding with me through city traffic, because I spend so much time looking at the buildings. I also love hiking, camping and being outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (or Mormon Church as it is often called), because I want to do the most good I can in life and ultimately do the things that God wants me to do. God has blessed me in so many ways and I have seen His hand in small ways throughout my life. When I have been hiking and sat quietly on the top of a back country mountain, it is perfectly clear to me that God created the world and is kind and loving toward each of us - His children. Learining from my amazing wife and having children of my own has taught me a little bit about true unselfish love. I have often felt God's love for me, especially in the gift of His Son who paid the price for my sins and mistakes and made it possible for me to change, grow and progress every day.

How I live my faith

I try to "do a good turn daily" in my professional and personal life as I learned as a boy scout. That simple rule goes a long way to filling the two great commandments God gave: to love Him and love our neighbors.
