Hi I'm Austin

I'm Mormon.

About Me

Hello! I'm Austin. I hope you enjoy my profile, as you will learn my faith is extremely important to me and I am always grateful to be able to share my beliefs with everyone I can. I guess I'll start by telling a little about myself. I was born in the Los Angeles area and grew up in Murrieta, a suburb about an hour outside of LA. I love California! Everything I love to do is here. From surfing to Hollywood to Laker games, we've got it all.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know that it is the only church on the Earth that has the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have found out for myself through study and sincere prayer that this is the true church of Jesus Christ, and that the Savior himself is at the head of this church. I know with all my heart that we have a living prophet today, Thomas S. Monson, who is guided by God to lead this church. There is no doubt in my mind that this is God's church and I am so grateful to be a member of it.

How I live my faith

My faith is everything to me. Although I was a member all my life and grew up in an amazing family where my parents taught me to love the Savior Jesus Christ, I really learned what it means to be Christian while serving my mission for the church in the country of Ecuador. There I learned the true purpose of this life and the blessings that we can receive from obeying God's commandments. I am very active in my church and I absolutely love to study the word of God. My favorite set of scriptures is the Book of Mormon. Reading that book every day has truly taught me how to be happy, and what my Heavenly Father wants of me. I know that through obedience to the laws and commandments of God we really can return to live with Him again.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Austin
The blessings we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost are countless. After baptism we can receive this amazing gift of God that can be a companion and a guide to us throughout our entire lives, as long as we stay worthy of His companionship. Probably the greatest blessing of the Holy Ghost for me is the comfort that it has given me as I have gone through struggles in my life. At times when I didn't know what to do, or felt like I couldn't go on, the Holy Ghost has given me feelings of peace and confidence and has taken my hand, leading me to safety. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Austin
Of course we do! We love the bible and believe it to be God's word. Right now I am studying in Acts, in the New Testament, and am learning so much about the missionary efforts of the early Apostles like Peter and Paul. These prophets and apostles had the amazing privilege of walking and talking with the mortal Christ and I believe it is so important that we study their words and learn of the Savior's life through them. Yes the bible is Holy Scripture and the word of God. Show more Show less
