Hi I'm Kelsee! :)

I am someone who loves to smile! :) I am a student at BYU-Idaho and I have also lived in Russia for 4 months. I love this church!

About Me

Right now I am a student. I have studied a little Russian, but I am still searching for a major! :) I enjoy scrapbooking, instrumental music, laughing, eating, making desserts, making people laugh, being an example, learning, and smiling! :) I have volunteered in Russia for 4 months teaching English. I loved the experience so much! Although some days were hard, it was an awesome experience to be teaching 3-6 year-olds English. I love the culture experience and the love of Russia and its' people that the experience gave me. In the future I hope to serve a Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but if that doesn't happen, I will always be a member missionary! There is no way I can't share this gospel- it brings me peace! I grew up in the middle of a divorce, but the Lord took care of me and my family! I love my family and friends so much! I have grown up a member of the church my whole entire life and I am so blessed by it. I am the person I am today because of the way the church teaches me to live!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is what truly brings me happiness. I have learned that I am a daughter of God who loves me and guides me! I know I have a savior, Jesus Christ, who suffered on the cross for me so that if I repent, I can live with him again! This knowledge gives me power to live each day in righteousness! I love being a member of this church. I cannot imagine a life without the principles I've learned from this church. I have learned to keep myself clean by using appropriate language, dressing modestly, and living a chaste life. I love the feeling that being honest and trustworthy brings. Being clean and pure brings peace of mind. I also love the direction this church brings. We are blessed to receive spiritual inspiration and also by following what our prophet tells us, we can know what things we are to do. Being a member of this church has changed my life and I know that as I continue to live the standards set for me by this church, I will always be the person I know I need to be. The gospel teaches you to have self-control and not give into the worldy appetites- I know that being master of self is what brings joy!

How I live my faith

I am a student right now at a church school and I love the environment. I love the fact that we are all aiming for eternal life and we all want to help each other get there. It is pleasant to hear clean language on campus and to be handed tests that tell us that it is "on our honor" to take it with no notes, no help. I don't know of many schools that could pass out a test for us to take at home and expect us not to use our notes, or cheat. It gives me such a feeling of self-respect that I try and live my life honestly. When I go home, I try and be an example an just emulate Christ through my actions. Christ served his whole life and I hope I can serve others so they want to know Christ.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Kelsee! :)
When you dress modestly- you have so much more respect for yourself and for your body. You gain a testimony that your body is a gift and that it is not meant to give into the worldly appetites and pleasures. I know that my body is not an item, but a gift from God. With being modest and clean you cultivate a a life of purity. If you teach your kids at a young age to always treat their bodies with respect and to dress modestly it is a lot easier. As a parent you need to make sure that you are being modest and clean in all your dealings. For children role models are important. Show more Show less
