Hi I'm Dave

I believe in Jesus Christ.

About Me

A mechanical designer by trade, painter when disciplined, and playful father and husband the rest of the time. I love learning, accomplishing new things, and growing.

Why I am a Mormon

Because of answers to prayer, my experiences and observations have been confirmed--that this is the church the Savior established, restored, and heads today. Because of that, and because of what Jesus Christ has done for me personally, I feel like I can be an advocate for his teachings. I can only do so much, but I know He can take my efforts to do something greater. My life and that of my family are better because of it.

How I live my faith

I try to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ by being respectful of others, looking for ways to help, and appreciating the good in all types of people. Those principles affect how I live both at home and away from it. In my efforts to be helpful, I also try to participate and guide activities with youth through scouting and church programs. Helping my family find the natural joy of living without depending on excessive spending, affluence, addictions, substances, stimulation, etc. is my goal. I believe that creativity without focus is shallow. Being creative around proper values allows for deeper enjoyment that lasts.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Dave
A lot of why we live this way is to remain in control of our choices. We feel accountability for what we do because we say we believe Jesus Christ. Jesus said to follow Him. For me, it's easier to say no to things I believe to be harmful, because I have had practice saying no to stimulants. Show more Show less
