Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 32, have been married for 8 years, and am a stay-at-home mother of 3 - a one-year-old boy, a three-year-old girl, and 5 year old adult male! I love to cook, read, sing, sew, be my kids photographer, and learn new things. I love being a Mormon and have been my whole life.

Why I am a Mormon

As a teenager, I attended church one Sunday and the lesson was about the Book of Mormon. Then teacher read to us the promise found near the end of the book that says that after you read the Book of Mormon, ask God to know if it is true and by the power of the Holy Spirit, you will know the answer. At that moment, I knew that I needed to find out for myself if the Book of Mormon was true and if I believed that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's church. I accepted the challenge, and read the whole book. When I was through, I knelt down by my bed and prayed. As I prayed I had the most wonderful, peaceful, happy feeling. In my mind and in my heart, the Holy Spirit told me, "It's true, you have always know it's true." From that day on, being a Mormon has helped me live my life in a way that I know God is happy with. Going to church each Sunday helps me learn more about Jesus and encourages me to try each day to follow his example and be a better person and mother. And, I continually feel the Holy Ghost confirming to my hard that this is where I need to be.

How I live my faith

I have been a missionary sharing the gospel in Missouri, a teacher for teenage girls, and a teacher for 8 year olds. I also do Visiting Teaching - visiting other women in the church monthly, getting to know them, talking to them about the gospel, and helping in any way I can. My husband and I try to read scriptures and pray every morning individually, and then read scriptures and pray as a family with our children. It really helps us stay Christ-centered and live what we believe.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost, or Holy Spirit, is the third member of the Godhead (God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost). We are given the Gift of the Holy Ghost when we are baptized. The new Testament describes it as a baptism of fire. He helps us to know what is true by giving us good feelings and promptings. When we pray for answers, we recieve them through the Holy Ghost. It was the promting of the Holy Ghost that confirmed to me that the Mormon Church is true and that God loves me and wants me to be happy. Show more Show less
