Hi I'm Carrie

I am a music teacher.

About Me

I am 25 years old, married, and expecting our first child. I teach voice and piano lessons, and I'm a phlebotomist. I love to do aerobic dance. I am starting to learn how to garden and I'm enjoying finding healthy recipes to cook.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be born into this Church. I chose to remain a member because I know in my heart that the doctrine is true.

How I live my faith

I attend church weekly and accept callings to serve in my ward (congregation). I pray about how I can best fulfill my calling. Right now I am the music director for the children's organization in our ward. I also worship in the temple. I read the scriptures and listen to the counsel of our living prophet and apostles, and constantly try to improve my personal behavior and character, especially in my relationship with my husband. I ask Heavenly Father to apply the atonement of Jesus Christ in my behalf as I try to overcome my weaknesses. I know that with His help and forgiveness, I can accomplish what He wants me to do here on the Earth, and be cleansed and made perfect in the next life and live with my family in happiness for eternity.

Are Mormons Christians?

Carrie
Yes! The nickname for our church is the Mormon church (This comes from the Book of Mormon--a book of scripture which we hold sacred, just like the Bible). But the official name of our Church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We worship God the Father, his Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. We believe in the divine conception of Jesus Christ, in his Atonement for the sins and suffering of all mankind, and in his literal resurrection. We believe that only in and through Christ can mankind be saved in the kingdom of God. We believe that salvation comes by the grace of Christ after all that we can do. We believe that we must obey Christ's commandments, according to our knowledge of them, in order to qualify for his grace. We love Jesus Christ and are definitely Christians. Show more Show less
