Hi I'm Lynn

I am married with two great sons. I grew up in Utah. I work as a systems engineer for the US government. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an engineer with 29 years of experience. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master's Degree in Environmental Management. I enjoy the many diverse outdoor activities available in Utah. However, I have traveled to 47 of the 50 U.S. states and have found beautiful places and wonderful people everywhere I've gone. I enjoy fishing, hiking and camping -- anything that will allow me to spend time in the mountains. Whenever I look around me at the majesty and diversity of God's creations, the words of the hymn "How Great Thou Art" always come to mind. I am amazed at all that God has done to bring joy into our lives. All things truly testify of Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I come from five generations of Mormons on all of my ancestral lines, but that is not why I'm a Mormon. I have studied out for myself the doctrine of the LDS Church and the doctrine of other denominations. I have read the Bible and the Book of Mormon and compared those teachings to what is offered by Christian churches today. There are good people and teachings everywhere and I believe that all truth, where ever you find it, is part of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel teachings, practices, and organization of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints make sense to me. Most importantly though, I have prayed and felt the confirmation of the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are both God's word to His children and that this is the restored church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I just received a new opportunity to serve in my neighborhood church group. I will be helping to coordinate services to aid people and families in working through personal difficulties. I love working with the youth here. They have so much potential for good in the world and a contagious energy and hope for a bright future. They help me to have a joyful optimism for things to come.
