Hi I'm Ashley.

I've traveled, met amazing people, am an active member of my community, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother of two amazing children, the wife to a husband who is still trying to keep up with me and thinks I'm brilliant, a sister, a friend and a neighbor. I knit, read a lot and write. I love to travel. The ocean makes me happy and the mountains make my heart soar. I love to camp, backpack and be anywhere outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

My family is the most important aspect of my life. Being a Mormon has brought joy to my life through the promise that my family will be forever. My husband is my best friend in the whole world and I know that I will be his wife and best friend forever. My entire life is centered around trying to make sure that I'm living so that my family will be an eternal one.

How I live my faith

I teach Sunday School each week. I love, love LOVE reading the Bible in depth and applying it to my life and my world around me today. My husband helps people in our community with trying to find jobs and I help in that by working on the resumes of those who are in need of a better way to support their family.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are vivacious, spirited and full of intelligence, humor and passion. I used to think that in order to be a good wife and mother I had to abandon my opinion and personality and become some sort of mindless drone to a husband who didn't like when the little wife talked or voiced any form of intelligence. I now know that a real man, especially a Mormon man who practices what he preaches, wouldn't be happy with a woman like that. Especially when children are involved. My husband and I are best friends. He has his jobs to do and I have mine. One of us isn't better than the other and we have an awesome balance in our relationship. We joke around a lot. We play pranks on one another. He's there to listen and encourage me when I need it and I'm there when he needs me. My husband treats me with love, respect and reverence. He comes to me when he has a problem and supports me in my pursuits to expand myself in the world. He encourages me to write, to study, to go to school, to paint, create and to learn. Men and women are more than equal. We compliment one another. One is incomplete without the other. Christ himself put a lot of emphasis on the importance and sacred value of a woman. A man who is truly trying to follow and be like Him does the same. Show more Show less
