Hi I'm Troy

I live in Southern California. My wife, Laura, and I have 3 children. I work in the aerospace industry. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am happily married. I am a dad with 3 kids. I enjoy spending time with my family going camping or to the park or beach. I work as a manager in a small business manufacturing parts for the aerospace industry. I moved around a lot when I was growing up. I lived in 7 different cities in 3 different states before graduating high school. Through this I was able to meet a lot of people from different backgrounds. One thing that was a constant was the church. Wherever we moved, we were always welcomed by the members of the church and were able to have a place we could go where we had friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converted to the church in their early twenties before they were married. I was raised in the church and was baptized when I was eight years old. When I was a teenager, I started to question my faith. I had to go through my own conversion process. It did not happen all at once, but over time I gained my own testimony of the church. Some things I learned the hard way. I made some poor decisions and was lost for a time. I felt the pain of the consequences to these decisions and the emptiness that comes along with it. I realized that the emptiness was from not having the spirit with me in my life and I knew that I needed to repent. I had a loving bishop and others that helped me through the repentance process. As I went through this process, I felt the healing power of the atonement of Christ work in my life and knew that it was right. It was unfortunate that I had to learn this way, but for me, it was like going through the refiner’s fire. I was able to be forgiven and I felt the spirit in my life again. I also learned many things through prayer and scripture study and just by consequence of being in the right place at the right time and living the gospel. Through all these experiences my testimony grew and I now know that the church is true, that Christ is my savior and he knows and loves me.

How I live my faith

I am very active in the church. I have served in many different callings (jobs) in the church and am currently a counsilor to the bishop in our ward. I love serving in this calling. I get to work with wonderful people who truely are an inspiration to me and my family. As part of this calling, I have the opportunity to work with the youth. I have seen them learn and grow. I have seen the great potential in them and have seen how they meet that potential. I have 2 children that are in the youth program now and my oldest son has already graduated from it. Their lives have been blessed because of the things that they learned, the friends they made and the experiences that they were able to have through these very difficult years of their lives. My oldest son is now serving a 2 year mission in Brasil. We have loved to hear from him about the wonderful experiences that he has had touching the lives of the people there.
