Hi I'm Cindy

I'm a Mormon. I am a memeber of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I live in Alaska.

About Me

I am a single women who belongs to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love the gospel at times I struggle but I know of its truth and the true love that our Savior Jesus Christ has for us. I am a mother and grandmother I have been blessed with 6 children and 20 grandchildren. I know life is hard I have raised my children by myself with my husband dying it wasnt easy but we made it so dont ever let anything stop you from learning or living the gospel. Always have faith in our savior and know that he will guide us through all hard time. Because I live in a wilderness area in a remote town of Alaska I have all kinds of hobbies or chores, I garden and sew, do canning and I also am in college working on a Associates Degree in Alternative medicine. I believe the lord put things on this earth to take care of us and I believe the plants here are exactly that. Come and learn or live the gospel of Jesus Christ and see what life really is.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church. My grandparents raised me, they were both active and sealed for all time and eternity in the Logan Temple I also have been endowed and wait for that special man that the lord has for me. I only need to keep walking the right path. I have tried other religions and life for me has not been easy, but I know the church and the gosepl is true. That is why I am LDS

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by being who I am. I do not have any callings in the church right now we have a very small branch but it is a great one. I look forward to doing service for others as much as I can, as Jesus has told us to always be in the service of others. It is a blessing to do this. I attend church and follow the teaching of the gospel I read my scriptures for peace, knowledge and guidance along with prayer. And I know that my redeemer lives.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Cindy
The word of wisdom is exactly, words of wisdom given to the Prophet Joseph Smith about the things that should be eaten and used and the things that should not be eaten and used. There are harmful things that do our body no good, and smoking, drinking, drugs and over eating are some of those harmful things. As a herbalist and believer of the church I follow the words of wisdom by not doing the things that harm my body. they are the foods that we eat in season. Have you ever noticed that we have seasons of food. There are the animals if you hunt, a season for them. WHY? I believe that the lord has put all things on this earth for us to use in seasons. During winter you need more fat, so then you would ( if you hunt) have your meat for winter so you have that little cush of insulation on your body. Not fat, like bad fat but the good fat our body needs. Then in the fall also is when we harvest all things, our gardens, wild berries, plants, roots. All these things are for us to live well and take care of our bodies. The Word of Wisdom is our reference for these things. Show more Show less
