Hi I'm Darrell or Moaimanu

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello, I am excited for this new opportunity to share who I am with you. For the past 9 years I have lived in Utah. Prior to that through work experiences my family and I have lived in Latin Am., namely Venezuela and Mexico. I come from a small family personally, but have a large one according to today's standards. My wife and I have six wonderful kids. All of them are different but they all have mannerisms that remind me of myself growing up. It's hectic, for my wife and I, I travel a lot for work and she obviously is the cornerstone of our home. I love my family so much and the gospel allows me to understand how to love deeper each member of our family. Some people in our neighborhood have actually said that our family travels as a "pack", because we're always together. I love that, its the example that I want to give to other families as well.

Why I am a Mormon

While all of my life I've been a member of the church of JesusChrist. I would say that the real reason why I am a Mormon, is because of the Book of Mormon and the testimony of Christ's ministry in ancient America to the people who inhabited the continent. I knew that there was power in the scriptures and that the Holy Ghost would witness that to me through them, but as a teenager I didn't think that mattered much, until I graduated from High School, then like a brick wall it hit. There was a decision I needed to make either continue on in the church or not. There were plenty of examples around me of people who did both, but I wanted to find out for myself. I figured the only way to truly put my faith to the test was to give an honest effort, and read the Book of Mormon. Each day I finished reading I would kneel and pray at the side of my bed and seek an answer. I was patient and it did come, and there was a burning sensation in my chest that I knew was my confirmation through the Holy Ghost, I was comforted and 3 months later on a mission to Southern Mexico, Tuxtla-Gutierrez , Chiapas. I have never regretted that decision and it has blessed my family almost 22 years later.

How I live my faith

Currently I am in a leadership position in my area that works with Father's in our neighborhood every Sunday. It was been a great experience, there have been many opportunities to serve our neighbors through service projects we've organized, such as sprinkler systems, gather coat donations in the winter for the local shelter, and there are always people who need help moving in and out of the neighborhood. In the position that I'm in I teach other Father's in the neighborhood about different aspects of the priesthood, which to me is the authority to act and perform different kind acts to those who are in need, in the name of God here on the earth. By doing these kind acts, I am better able to understand the mission of JesusChrist here on the earth and it tempers me, and my spirit to be a more capable individual. While I will never totally comprehend Christ's mission on earth. I am given glimpses, "tender mercies", if you will of the joy that He had while "about [his] Father's business".
