Hi I'm Jason Hadley

I grew up in Ogden, Utah. I'm a film-maker, a Dad, I love my Savior Jesus Christ with all of my heart and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of six children and have always loved spending time with family and friends. I am married and have four children of my own. I enjoy many kinds of sports including soccer, football and basketball. I absolutely love music as well. I love to sing, play the piano and listen to classical music. I also enjoy my hobby/career of film production.

Why I am a Mormon

My family has been a part of the church all of their lives, but as a youth I wanted to find out for myself if belonging to the church was right for me. I had been counseled by my friends and family to pray and ask my Heavenly Father if that was what I should do. I don't know what I was expecting as an answer, but I felt an increase of love in my heart and knew that this is what my Heavenly Father wanted me to do. I am grateful for the knowledge that came as I prayed - which is that He knows who I am and that He loves me. I continue to feel that love each day as I try my best to keep His commandments.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to follow the example of the Savior and serving others. I enjoy visiting with my friends and neighbors while offering my assistance with needs they may have.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Jason Hadley
When I was a missionary for the church, there were many people I talked with who believed that the Book of Mormon was a book that was written by Joseph Smith. The Book of Mormon is actually a collection of writings of ancient prophets who lived upon the American continents and Joseph Smith was given the responsibility to translate those writings. To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Jason Hadley
I believe the church continues to grow today because each individual is encouraged to pray and find out for themselves whether or not the churchs teachings are true. I know it is through prayer that we receive that knowledge from our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

Jason Hadley
We should have faith in our Heavenly Father and in our Savior Jesus Christ. When Christ lived upon the earth he taught his disciples "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the father except by me." It is that faith in Jesus Christ that helps me through the my personal struggles in life. I know that He is always there waiting to lend me a helping hand if I have faith in Him. Show more Show less

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Jason Hadley
I know that Jesus Christ did appear as it is written in the Book of Mormon. The reason that I know this to be true is because I read about it, I spent some time pondering in my head whether or not this could have really happened and then I prayed and asked Heavenly Father if it really did happen. The answer didn't come right away. In fact, it didn't come until I went back and read the part in the Book of Mormon about Christ's appearance again. While I was reading the second time, I felt an overwhelming influence of love that brought me to tears. It was as if I had felt the Lord whispering to me that it was true. Show more Show less

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Jason Hadley
Tithing is used by our church for several purposes. One major purpose is to build and maintain chapels for the members to worship in. Temples are another building of worship that tithing money is used to build and maintain. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Jason Hadley
Absolutely not! We believe in being a good Samaritan to all people who are in need. There is nothing more Christ-like than to reach out when someone needs help. I recall a time that a neighbor had water come in to the basement of their home on a Sunday morning. I was at church when I learned of the flooding. After Sacrament meeting was over, a group of guys went over to this neighbors house and helped move out all of the furnishings, remove the wet carpet and clean up all of the water and mud that had entered into this house. We are all children of a loving Heavenly Father and I feel he expects us to reach out and help one another when there is a need, regardless of our religious background. Show more Show less

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Jason Hadley
Mormon Church services are similar to other religious services you may have attended. Our primary worship service is called sacrament meeting. In this meeting, we sing hymns, we pray, we partake of the sacrament or communion and learn from speakers who teach about the Savior from the scriptures and their own personal experiences. This meeting generally goes about 70 minutes. Everyone is welcome to come to our meetings. I often get asked how people should dress to come to church. My answer is simple, "Wear the best of whatever you have." I have friends who come to church in jeans and a nice button-up shirt. You will find that many women wear dresses, skirts, slacks, etc. while many men wear a white shirt and tie or a suit. However, it doesn't matter what you wear, just come and enjoy the spirit in our meetings. Show more Show less
