Hi I'm Mary

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Illinois, live in Utah, and have a son on a mission in Santiago, Chile. I love the gospel.

About Me

I am a busy stay at home mom. My 5 children are my greatest accomplishments. I graduated from BYU in Special and Elementary Education. In my spare time, which never seems like enough, I like to garden, read, spend time with family and the youth of our ward.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was young my parents took me to church, but I have since learned on my own that this church is the only true church upon the face of this earth. The same church that existed when Jesus and the twelve apostles were on the earth is on the earth today! It is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. We have continuing revelation. The heavens are still open. Heavenly Father speaks to us through the Holy Ghost. He hears and answers our prayers. Jesus Christ leads and guides his church through the prophets, from Joseph Smith down to President Monson today. You can know this church is true too by living the principles of the gospel, and through the power of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I have worked for 4 years in the scouting program, helping my son and others on their way to Eagle. I now volunteer my time with the young women, planning and participating in weekly activities and Sunday meetings with them.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Mary
Definitely yes. He speaks to us every 6 months at a semi-annual conference, and we can read his words in church magazines or on the internet any time. Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mary
I think we are so lucky. I am a much better person than I would have been because I have the knowledge of who I am, why I am here, and where I am going. I am a member of the largest women's organization in the world, and have developed so many talents and skills because of the opportunities I have had to serve. Men and women are both equally important in this church. Show more Show less
