Hi I'm Taylor

I'm from Alaska and I have an MBA

About Me

I grew up in Alaska. I have one older sister that gets all of my jokes and two very cool and very musical parents. I have studied economics, worked for several years on Capitol Hill, and also obtained an MBA. One of my favorite things: I like to play guitar and get people to sing along.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a family of great faith, that believed strongly in the church and gospel of Jesus Christ, but I think that the reason I personally believe in this church is because I wondered if it was true as a kid. I asked my Dad if it was true and he told me I could figure that out by praying--he showed me the scripture in Moroni 10:3-5. I read the Book of Mormon, asked God if the church was true, and I received an affirmative answer. Since then, I have continued to read the scriptures and I continue to receive feelings and thoughts that reassure me about my faith and also help me to make better decisions. (verse 5) "And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." I have been away from my family for a long time now. My knowledge of the gospel has helped me as I have learned to live on my own. When I pray hard and with courage I have received strength to keep on going when I have felt low. This has increasingly led me to realize that I truly rely upon Jesus Christ, sometimes just to make it through my day or my week. Luckily, God never seems to get tired of helping me out, He has a lot of strength to give.

How I live my faith

I think it's essential to try to have a living faith, to try to implement the gospel in your life on a daily basis. I try very hard to read my scriptures every day, and to take rigorous, corrective action when I make mistakes.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Taylor
We whole-heartedly believe in the Grace of Jesus Christ--without it we are lost. We believe that repentance, faith and obedience to the commandments of Jesus help us to change and become new creatures--through the grace of Jesus Christ. His strength is instrumental, Jesus gives us strength to be better. "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith." (1 John 5: 3,4) Show more Show less
