Hi I'm Khinna

Mother to two. Wife of academia. Educator, okay, a paraprofessional, but I'm so close.

About Me

I am the eldest daughter of Cambodian immigrant parents. In the 70's, my parents fled Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge regime, and began a new life in America. Their story is one love, great sacrifice, and of refuge in the States is a story of their marking. I grew up in a small farming community in Northern Utah. I went to attend school in Salt Lake City, and met my husband. We currently live in the South, while my husband serves in the United Sates Army. I was introduced to the Church at a young age. My full immersion of the Gospel did not begin until my late teens. I am grateful for those Young Womens' examples, and their Faith - above all things. My husband is also a great attribute to my love for Jesus Christ. I was vicariously living through his testimony and faith. That approach was quickly dissolved, when we started having children. I needed to curate my own experiences within the Lord's teachings. I needed my testimony to shout "Hosanna" and to the "highest of heavens." My children need to see that I stand for His truths. I am continuously striving to be better everyday.

Why I am a Mormon

I had several time frames where I denied the Lord's teachings, especially during my youth. I wanted detailed answers. I often wondered if the Lord had loved me, or even loved me at all. I let the world define my happiness. I found that I was temporarily satisfied, and unhappy. I carried my burdens with me. It wasn't until I met my husband that the Gospel was re-introduced into my life. I was astounded by his life experiences that involved the Latter Day Saint Church. My husband relied on the Lord. The more questions I asked about the LDS church, the more answers were revealed. I wanted to "partake" more of His truth and teachings. I knelt down and prayed for an entire evening by pouring my heart to Him, which I had not done in years. I felt a great burden and weight dissolve. Why I'm A Mormon? Despite my shortcomings, I rejoice in the mercy of the Him. Through the Atonement, He will always be remembered and savored for His redeeming act. Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. This will always remain true.

How I live my faith

I am delighted to be serving as teacher for our primary. Primary are classes arranged for children ages 18 months through 11 years. Theses last few years, I have had the opportunity to serve in different classes. The purposes of Primary are to help children feel Heavenly Father’s love for them to learn, to understand the gospel of Jesus Christ, to recognize the influence of the Holy Ghost, and prepare to make and keep sacred covenants. The Primary motto has taught me these very things. His simple truths is what I delight in, and by learning these truths, I work to share them with others each day.
