Hi I'm Sara

I'm a wife and a new mom. I love my family, teaching, and learning. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In college, I studied Elementary Education. After teaching for two years, I became a mother! I love my family, I love children, and I love teaching! I love learning, writing, cooking, baking, singing, acting, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon, but I made my own personal decisions to make my faith a central part of my life. I've found great happiness as I've done my best to live God's commandments. I know that He speaks to His children through modern prophets, and we can find the greatest happiness possible by listening to their words and the words of ancient prophets. I know that I am a daughter of God and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His church, restored to the earth in these days. I'm so grateful for the covenants I've made to follow Christ's example; I know that I am blessed as I keep these covenants.

How I live my faith

I attend a congregation of all college students, and I love the friends that I have at church! I love the feeling of community and friendship centered in faith. I am currently helping with local missionary efforts as my service in the Church. I'm enjoying finding new ways to share my faith! I also love visiting teaching--it's an opportunity to visit the other women in the ward and get to know them. I love learning and growing with my peers at church!

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Because we are in a fallen world, we cannot live in the presence of our Heavenly Father or Jesus Christ. However, we can have the companionship of the Holy Ghost, who is a member of the Godhead. When we are obedient to God's commandments, we can always have the Holy Ghost with us to guide and direct us and bring peace and happiness. The Holy Ghost is also called the Spirit, and we read in Galatians 5:22-23 that "the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance." We can develop these qualities through the assistance of the Spirit; developing these qualities helps us come closer to God. Show more Show less

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Men and women have different roles to play in life, and they have different ways of fulfilling them. Men have the opportunity to hold the priesthood, which is the power to act in God's name. Women have the opportunity to be mothers and to raise children along with their husbands. Women and men are equal, and all people are of infinite worth in God's eyes, but we each have unique roles to play. Show more Show less
