Hi I'm John

I'm an Economics major. I wish I was Mexican. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania but I have lived in New Jersey, Georgia, Hawaii, and Virginia. I am a student at Brigham Young University and I am studying Economics... I'm hoping to be a lawyer, but I'm still not 100% sure as far as career plans go. Right now, I am serving as a Spanish-speaking missionary for the Church in the California Carlsbad Mission. I love being a missionary and have learned more in this short time than I could have ever anticipated.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both members of the Church, and so I have gone to the Church all my life. I never really gave much thought to whether or not the Church was true--it just always was, and it was a part of my life and our family. As I was filling out my application to serve as a missionary, my bishop asked me if I had ever prayed about the Book of Mormon. I told him that I had not, because I had been raised in the Church and that I had always just assumed it was true. He told me that, to be able to truly be a missionary, I needed to go get my own testimony of the Book of Mormon. That night, I went back to my dorm and closed the door and knelt down and asked God if the Book of Mormon was true, and if the Church was really Christ's true Church. I didn't feel anything right away, so I got up and sat on my bed and started reading the Book of Mormon, and as I read a certain verse in 3 Nephi, I felt the Spirit tell me that the Book of Mormon was true and that this truly was the true Church of Jesus Christ. I am so glad that I did, because as I have served as a missionary I have had good times as well as as hard times, and whenever things have gotten hard I have been able to remember back on that night, alone in my dorm, when God told me that the Book of Mormon was true.

How I live my faith

I am a full-time missionary. For these two years, I eat, sleep and breath missionary work--helping others have the blessings of the restored Gospel and sharing what I know is true.
