Hi I'm Craig Williams

I grew up in California and Washington. I work in the energy field. I'm a Mormon son, husband, and father.

About Me

I grew up in California and moved to Washington when I was a young teenager. It was a big change, and at first I didn't like it, but it turned out to be a good thing. It seems just like yesterday that I was young, but now I'm a dad with six kids and almost no time. My life revolves around family, church, work, and country. And when I can - I go fishing with my 11 year old! I'm not the best at most of what I try to do, so I just do all that I can and smile. I love all of God's children and enjoy the world's diversity.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Mormon, and then as now I had my weaknesses and faults. But at 14 I decided I needed to find out for myself whether the Church was true. I made a promise to God that I would change and keep all his commandments as best as I could if he would just give me a testimony from the Holy Spirit about what was true. At the end of that school year I knew for myself the Church and the Book of Mormon were true. It wasn't easy, but over the years I have had many more witnesses that confirm this truth to me. I know that God's hand and Love are in the lives of all his children all over the earth. It's this testimony, which never leaves me, that helps me endure.

How I live my faith

I believe that Jesus gave two great commandments: 1. To love the Lord with all your heart soul and mind, and 2. To love your neighbor. To me, the only way you can keep the 1st great commandment is by doing the second. Everything I do in my faith is guided by my belief that our Father in Heaven has a plan for us to be happy. And the best way to be happy, and to make God happy, is to serve others with love while I work on being a better person.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Craig Williams
No, but we do honor him as a Prophet, Seer, and Revelator just like Moses or Abraham. My wife is a convert to the Church. She had heard from some of her friends that Mormons had idols of Joseph Smith that we worshipped on Sunday. She was very happy to learn that wasn't true when she came to church with me. What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Craig Williams
They are simple and family oriented. It's not always quiet and it's certainly not for entertainment, but the talks and testimonies from members give real glimpses into people's lives and how the Gospel of Jesus Christ helps them. Everyone is welcome at our meetings! I wish that more people would come and worship with us. You don't have to be a Mormon to worship with us or learn more about the Mormon church. Show more Show less
