Hi I'm Sarah

I am a Special Education teacher, runner, amateur cake decorate, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I recently moved to Louisiana to further my career as a Special Education teacher. I am prepping for graduate school, which I will hopefully begin in the fall of 2012. I love running, singing, cooking, and spending time with my family. I try to live each day as though it were an exciting adventure.

Why I am a Mormon

I would have to say that I am a Mormon for several reasons. The number one reason is the feeling that I get each time I attend church, get on my knees to pray, or participate in church activities. I feel the love of God, and I am able to feel part of his love for all of his children here on earth. Having been born of goodly parents who raised me as a Mormon some people may say that I am just following in the foot steps of my parents, and perhaps they are right. I do not mind. I feel that the things my parents have taught me are true, and I know that because I am a Mormon and because I follow the teachings of the Mormon church that I have the happiness that I have in my life. There have been times in my life when I doubted my beliefs and wondered if they were true, but through prayer and guidance from the spirit I now know that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ that has been established in these latter days. I know that God still speaks to us and that he has prophets and apostles on the earth again. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that today we are led by a prophet of God Thomas S. Monson. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and that it was translated by the power of God, and has been given to us in these latter days so that we can have the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ at a time when the world most needs it. Because of these things that I know to be true I can have hope that even when life gets hard there are better days ahead. I know that when I feel alone I can get on my knees and pray to a loving Father in Heaven that will always be there.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being the best I can each and every day, and by being an example of Jesus Christ. I currently also help the Young Women in my ward (congregation), through teaching them and helping them set goals in their personal study and prayer.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Because, we want to share that same happiness that we have with others, this happiness comes through living the things that we are taught. The things that missionaries teach can make you happier even when life is hard. Show more Show less
