Hi I'm David

I am considered an over active Mormon! Born in Scotland, lived in England and now in California!

About Me

I recently married a wonderful woman I met at a Young Single Adult Ward (YSA Ward) and we have a beautiful daughter. I have worked in several industries over the years from a gas station attendant to truck driving to landscaping to security and am currently working on starting my own business, a bookstore. I started on the college route but preferred working instead and gaining experience that way! Though I plan to go back to college to finish my degree I have other plans until then.

Why I am a Mormon

I am not a Mormon, I am a David! (That's one of my favorite jokes) There are several reasons I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the main ones are the personal experiences I have had that showed me that God knows me and wants me to be happy in the next life and this one. Another is the complete sensibility of the doctrines from the simple things to the complex. Though not every detail of the Gospel of Jesus is explained, the most fundamental parts are and how to gain personal knowledge of the Messiah.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one minute at a time! I take each challenge with the perspective of the eternities and work on improving myself daily. That is how I feel we are saved, a little each day! I have been involved in many areas of the church's leadership and teaching. I taught Sunday School, been a secretary for the Bishop and taught the children of the congregation. In each of those responsibilities I have learned more lessons from others than I think they learned from me. I do my best to follow the Savior's commandment, "judge not unrighteously that ye be not judged" by realizing I do not know everybody's history and giving them the benefit of the doubt and being patient with them and hope others will do the same for me! Knowing the Savior died for me, a sinner that wants to be better, gives me the ability to be better day after day if I put forth the effort to follow Him, so I will do the best I can because He loves me and I love Him.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

The main role of the husband is to provide and protect the family. The main role of the wife is to care for and nurture the children. By working together and utilizing each others' strengths the family will be strong and tight nit giving the children the best chance for a great future and able to deal with the challenges ahead. In the family the greatest happiness can be found when all are working together toward salvation. I am beginning to find this out for myself. Show more Show less
